About this mod Machine translation

Makes the defenders who survived Dragon Rise into unique NPCs who can identify players and continue to guard Whiterun.

Do you remember the Doomsday Guardians in Dragon Soar? The ones who originally called you Dragonborn? Maybe not, because after completing the mission, they are disabled, and any defenders you encounter may think they "might be Dragonborn and don't know it yet." This mod fixes that, and you can talk to four new friends in Whiterun after the mission is completed.

All dialogue is fully expressed using redesigned vanilla lines. Each of the four guards has something unique to say when you first meet them, and you can ask them several questions. Although they didn't have unique names until Dragon Ascension was completed (there was no time for introductions then), they already had a unique look. They can be found patrolling Whiterun and in other guarded locations around the city. In order for them to appear for the first time, make sure the MQ104 is fully completed (stage 200) and reload the Whiterun unit (either by traveling fast or just traveling normally elsewhere)

Mod is esp with esl flag. Should be compatible with any mod that does not replace the Whiterun unit (also not compatible with Open Cities) and does not alter the MQ104 final phase. I recommend installing before Dragon Rising.

Specific details:

Each of the four NPCs is called a "Guardian," followed by Horulf, Leilof, Fringar, and Vilkhelm.

If not patrolling Whiterun during most of the day and night, they can be found at Whitewatch Tower in the West, patrolling near Honningbrew or visiting Riverwood on the weekends.

They will also have dinner on the Flagback Mare or Drunken Hunstman some nights, but only for a short time to help with crowding.

Although they look like guards, they won't actually try to arrest you for a crime, only increase your bounty. If you pickpocket them directly, the betrayal of trust may be answered violently.

Like vanilla, if any guards die in Ascension, they will respawn for dialogue. With the mod, they won't get unique names until after the mission is complete, so that if you inspect the body, any guards killed during the mission will just be other "Whiterun Guards".

After Rise of the Dragon, guards are protected and can only be killed by players.

Shout out to the awesome Speech File Reference Tool 2, which makes the creation of custom dialogues even easier.

I'm currently working on adding more NPCs as you clear dungeons and complete quests. My planned mod, "Revival of Skyrim," will be an immersive way to add population to Skyrim towns as you play the game, rather than just adding nameless NPCs from the start. If you have any ideas for similar dungeon clearing based NPCs, please feel free to share!

This mod fixes that problem, giving you four new friends to talk with in Whiterun after the quest.

All dialogue is fully voiced using repurposed vanilla lines. Each of the four guards will have unique lines to say upon first meeting you and you can ask them a couple of questions. Although they won't have unique names until after the Dragon Rising quest (no time for introductions then), they will already have their unique appearances. They can be found either patrolling Whiterun or visiting other well-guarded locations near the city. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
