About this mod Machine translation
A simple dual weapon mod originally made by Borgut1337. The left attack is now blocked and the main attack randomly swings either weapon. No SKSE required.
(The original mod is here. If you like it and enjoy it, please endorse it.)
I got permission from Borgut1337 to convert it. The reason I wanted to do this is because a lot of SSE's dual zone options are SKSE dependent and feature heavy, and often rely on hotkey bindings to alter the muscle memory of combat. It's simple, no frills, and made to the proverbial tin, like a vanilla-flavored condiment.
From the original mod description:
Dual wield recruits random attacks
-The default block button (which can also be used to block when you have a shield) will now also allow you to block while dual-wielding two one-handed weapons or using a bare fist.
-When you dual-wield a weapon or use your fists, you can no longer control which hand you hit with. Instead, you randomly use your left hand sometimes and your right hand sometimes.
-This mod has no effect while sneaking.
-Only supports the combination of one-handed weapon + one-handed weapon and none + none. [EDIT: In other words, no spells or staves in the way. ]
my addendum
-Taps follow the usual controls and look like a swipe with your off-hand weapon.
-As far as I know, mods like VioLens still recognize you as a dual wielder and will show those kill moves.
-If there is a problem, the version I converted is the Dawnguard version.
That's it. No configuration, no MCM, etc. Just install, enable it and continue.
usual warning
Mod is provided as is. I'm a newbie and don't know much about shunting, but I'm going to get into trouble. So if this doesn't work for you, I most likely won't be able to help you. In save games it went through wringer, 130+ mods, cleaned up a few times in ReSaver because I messed up something or script spam had weird issues, worked great for me.
All I did was save the .esp as Form 44, no changes were actually made in the mod.
enjoy your meal!

I obtained permission from Borgut1337 to convert this. I wanted to do that because a lot of the dual wield block options for SSE are SKSE-dependent and feature heavy, and often depend on hotkey binding that changes the muscle memory for combat. This is simple, no-frills, does what it says on the proverbial tin, and is a close match for the vanilla controls.
From the original mod description:
Dual Wield Parrying Random Attacks
- The default block button (which you also use to block when you have a shield) will now also allow you to block when dual wielding two one-handed weapons or when using your bare fists.
- You can no longer control with which hand you strike when dual wielding weapons or using your fists. Instead, you will randomly sometimes use the left hand and sometimes the right hand.
- This mod has no effect when you are sneaking.
- Only the combinations One-handed Weapon + One-handed Weapon and Nothing + Nothing are supported. [Edit: In other words, no blocking with spells or staves.]
Addendum by me
- Bashing works as per the usual controls, and looks like a swipe with the off-hand weapon.
- As far as I can tell, mods like VioLens still identify you as dual-wielding, and will show those killmoves.
- If it matters, the version I converted was the Dawnguard version.
That's pretty much it. There's no config, no MCM, etc. Just install it, enable it, and go.
The Usual Caveats
Mod is provided as-is. I'm a newb and know just enough about modding to get myself into trouble. So if this doesn't work for you, I sadly will probably not be able to help you. It works fine for me on a save game that's been put through the wringer, 130+ mods, cleaned in ReSaver a few times because I screwed something up or had weird problems with script spam, and so on.
All I did was save the.esp as Form 44, and have changed literally nothing else in the mod.
Enjoy!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
