Updated version 1.3 - Bounty notification added!
This mod will notify you when you cross a held boundary, and it will notify you again when you actually cross that boundary. (Optional) Notify you of any bounties you may have on the hold you entered.
that's all. "
A note on accuracy
This mod relies on the location identifiers provided by Bethesda to be accurate. Some of them aren't and I'm fixing them.
If you encounter location notifications that are obviously wrong, please let me know by posting! If I don't know it, I can't solve it. You should post:
The most recent named location where you received the error message
Where you have a relationship with it (i.e. southwest of Ragnvald, middle of Salvius Farm, etc.)
What is wrong Hold and what it should be

what's new?
===========
1.31-SE
*Ported mod to Special Edition (with permission). The plugin has been resaved in Creation Kit 64, so the form version is 44.
*Cleaned using xEdit 4.0.2
- Use Cathedral Assets Optimizer to package ports of ESPL version and ESP version into BSA.
1.31:
Fixed incorrectly identified Bethesda-provided locations resulting in inaccurate notifications:
- Wilderness cell 1, -15 (SW of Riverwood near Embershard Mine) belongs to PurewaterRunLocation, changed to None. This is obviously a mistake.
*HillgrundsTombLocation belongs to PaleHoldLocation, change it to WhiterunHoldLocation. Hillgrund's Tomb is apparently south of the Pale and triggered the false notification as it crossed the Eastmarch/Whiterun border.
- SnaplegCaveLocation belongs to EastmarchHoldLocation, change it to RiftHoldLocation. It's a border case (yes, that's right), but since it's in two locations that are clearly in a rift, and it's much higher than Eastmarch, I call it a rift.
Fixed a bug where bounty notifications would show up even if your bounty was 0.
Special thanks to Kirilov13 and SJR for pointing out the wrong location on Steam!
1.30:
Added optional bounty notifications (enabled by default).
Several different levels of notifications have been added.
Immersive (default) - tells you not just which one you are approaching/entering, but how the player knows (landmarks, weather, smells, vegetation, etc.).
*Detailed - Tell you what moved you and what just left you. (Optional) Tells you the direction of the boundary from your location.
*Basic - Minimalist notification that tells you what you just typed and nothing more. When border proximity notifications are disabled, the behavior is almost identical to Oblivion's positioning system.
Added the ability to turn off border approach notifications so you are only notified when you actually cross the border.
Completely rewritten most of the location detection scripts to make them more reliable and easier to manage from a coding perspective.
Details/requirements
===================
This mod monitors the player's position and compares it to all loaded hold positions. SKSE64 is not required to run, but SkyUI/MCM (and therefore SKSE64) is required to use the settings page.
MCM
=====
This mod uses SkyUI MCM. Options are available to turn on directional notifications and
Disable notification sound effects.
Incompatibility

Unless the mod changes or breaks the vanilla hold position, it should …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
