About this mod Machine translation

Edit the book titles so that the game interface places them in alphabetical order.

-Updated September 15, 2017-

Added changes to the latest version of USSEP (4.0.8).

-illustrate-

By the time you get to the majority of books in your inventory that begin with "The," you've probably been walking around putting a bunch of books on your shelf. While Aether Wars may be the title, it doesn't help the organization. It may be that you can remember a few titles here and there and remember to place them appropriately, but not dozens.

This is a small module for editing book titles so the Skyrim UI places them in alphabetical order. This only changes the title of the actual book. This does not change the diary, notes or letters. Titles starting with "A", "An" or "The" have been edited.

example:

Scroll's Accounting->Scroll's Accounting

Ether War->Ether War

Dance in the fire, v1-> Dance in the fire, a, v1

Volume 1 Poison Song -> Volume 1 Poison Song

compatibility

1 I've forwarded USSEP's book edit, so there's no conflict here.

2The only problem is "the choice is yours".

If you place the mod for this book after TCIY, you will get my title edits, but not the changes that will not allow automatic changes to Aether Wars and Legend of the Red Hawk starting from TCIY.

If you put this book's mod before TCIY, you will get the changes to the mission start, but the titles Aetherium Wars and The Legend of Red Eagle will not change.

Only these two books are affected. You can choose the load order, depending on whether you feel task changes or title changes are more important. If you've completed these tasks, you can switch the loading order so that title editing takes precedence.

3 There may be an issue with Skyrim's bookcase. However, I don't use that module, so I can't say. I'm going to base this off of reviews I read on the Organized Books mod.

-Notes-

There is a similar mod for Oldrim Organized Books, which should work fine in SSE after resaving in the 64-bit Creation Kit. I think this mod goes too far, as it completely removes the article with the title - Aetherium Wars -> Aetherium Wars - and other changes that I don't agree with.

-- Update, September 15, 2017 --

Added the book changes from the latest version (4.0.8) of USSEP.

-- Description --

You might have been going along, placing a bunch of books on your shelves, when you arrive at a large section of books in your inventory that begin with "The." While The Aetherium Wars might be the title, it's not helpful for organization. It might be that you can remember a few titles here and there and remember to place them appropriately, but not dozens, of which there are.

This is a small mod to edit book titles so the Skyrim UI places them in alphabetical order. This only changes titles of actual books. This does NOT change journals, notes, or letters. Titles that begin with "A," "An," or "The" have been edited.

Examples:

An Accounting of the Scrolls --> Accounting of the Scrolls, An

The Aetherium Wars --> Aetherium Wars, The

A Dance in Fire, v1 --> Dance in Fire, A, v1

The Poison Song, Book I --> Poison Song, The, Book I

Compatibility

1 I have forwarded the book edits from USSEP, so there are no conflicts there.

2 The only issue is with The Choice Is Yours.

If you place this book mod after TCIY, you will get my title edits, but not the changes that disallow automatic quest starting from TCIY for the books The Aetherium Wars and The Legend of Red Eagle.

If you place this book mod before TCIY, you will get the quest-start changes, but the titles The Aetherium Wars and The Legend of Red Eagle will not be changed.

Only these two books are affected. Your load order is your choice, depending on whether you feel the quest changes are more important, or the title changes. If you have already completed these quests, you can switch the load order so the title edits take priority.

3 There might be issues with Book Covers of Skyrim. However, I don't use that mod, …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
