2525/5000 Blade Armor + Weapon Simple 1 Minute Job Texture Minor Edit - Desaturation (Original Blade Armor + Weapon Simple Reconstruction - Gray)
This mod was originally called "Blades Armor + Weapon Simple Retexture - Gray", but luckily LupusHegemonia pointed out the error:
So, this isn't a refactoring mod - since you just parsed the dds file, right?
This is just a slight edit to the texture; just 1 minute of work and a free graphics app that everyone can use.
- LupusHegemonia
Therefore, I have quickly renamed my mod to avoid any confusion. The term "retexture" should not be used lightly as it is reserved only for the highest quality textured models, and calling this mod a retexture is probably the most insulting thing you can do in terms of modding. Sorry about that!

I'm a person with a taste for simplicity, not because I'm a simple person, but because the simple things in life are often the best things, or simply work better than other things. That's why they say "keep it simple." But in Skyrim, Bethesda really, in my humble opinion, dropped the ball. They added all the weird colors like Nonsense Ultramarine, Gross Umber and Ewww Ocher.
So I decided to simplify it by removing every bit of color from Blade's Armor. I opened the dds file and desaturated everything and clicked "Save". It seems simple now. It just works.
This is a simple 1 minute job for anyone with texture editing software. I can't stress enough how stupidly simple I went and the effort it took to create these textures. The time it takes you to do it yourself is actually less than the time it takes to download and install this mod.
enjoy your meal!
(This mod modifies the vanilla textures. If you use any mod that uses the vanilla blade armor, weapons and shield textures, they will now use this new texture and their appearance will be affected.)
Special thanks to:
Bethesda, for making such a great game.
Adobe, which I use to create Photoshop and allow me to edit textures.
My grandfather, father and mother, made our family very wealthy so I never worked a day in my life, just sitting in front of the computer playing Skyrim.
LupusHegemonia, for pointing out the shortcomings of this mod and helping me correct previous serious errors in the mod's title and description. Valuable input like this makes the community stronger every day and inspires new imitators to continually improve their work and share their creations. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Blades Armor + Weapon Simple 1 Minute Job Texture Minor Editing - Desaturation (Originally Blades Armor + Weapon Simple Retexture - Grey)
This mod was originally called " Blades Armor + Weapon Simple Retexture - Grey," but thankfully, LupusHegemonia pointed out the mistake:
So, this is not a retexturing mod - since you simply disaturated the dds files, is it?
That's simply a minor editing of the textures; a matter of 1 minute job, capable for everybody to do it with a free graphic app.
- LupusHegemonia
Therefore I have promptly renamed my mod to avoid any confusion. The term "retexturing" should never be used lightly as it is reserved for only texture mods of the highest quality and calling this mod a retexture is possibly the most insulting thing you can do in terms of modding. Sorry about that!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
