I introduce Attila Blackbeard.

</ s> </ s> </ s>

Until recently, Attila was a Blackblood Raider. After bloodshed between him and the Reavers, he gave up on that life. For now, he prefers to live a low-key life, taking on the occasional mercenary job here and there. He currently lives in Riften, where he works for his highest paid and favorite client, Maven Black-Briar. When he's not working, Attila enjoys exploring ancient ruins scattered across Skyrim in search of lost treasures. When he's truly relaxed, he enjoys a drink at the local tavern and even knows his way around Pipa.

Ultimately, how you choose to play him is up to you. Remember, all of my presets are just a starting point to help you get started quickly, and a canvas for your creativity!

Attila is unique among my other presets because he has a 3D beard - mustache and all! However, I had to use vanilla beards (because COtR doesn't have 3D beards as of now), and it doesn't fit the COtR head mesh correctly. There are some cuts, but the most glaring issue is that certain areas of the beard are falling away from his face. To fix this, I had to manually sculpt Attila's beard using the Sculpt tool in RaceMenu, bringing the separated areas closer to his face. This was my first serious attempt at using the Sculpt tool, so Attila's beard is far from perfect. I've tried my best to get through the worst of my beard trimming and beard loss issues, but I'm running into a problem where I can no longer trim my beard without introducing some serious trimming. There are still a few minor issues (like a slight detachment of sideburns, a bit of pinching at the chin, and some stiff-looking areas), but overall they're not too noticeable - 90% of the time the beard should look good.

I may trim my beard again in the future, but for now I'm happy with it.

If you want to mess around with it, I've included a NIF file of Attila's sculpture in the preset. *

If you want to use Attila as intended, here is a list of generally required and recommended mods. Even though these are listed as requirements, you don't necessarily need everything on this list (except for COtR, which you absolutely do), but I can't guarantee that Attila will look similar in game to how he does in the screenshots.

It looks scary, but I promise it's not bad! If you've used my presets before, this weirdness should look familiar. ;)

Attila was created with SAM Light's mod collection in mind, so if you have them installed he will use the SAM body slider and the SAM body hair overlay. If not, Attila still loads just fine without them. However, you may need to adjust the size of his hands as I've resized them to have realistic proportions to SAM.

Alternatively, if you want to continue using a vanilla/SOS light body but still want to eliminate the neck seam, you can use the Vitruvia. You can also use Dizona Body with the official COtR patch, or indeed with any other body mod. Again, these body modifications are only suggestions for a seamless experience with Attila.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
