About this mod Machine translation

With the introduction of Bound Shields come changes to bound weapons and related perks. Now has support for mages and spell paths.

describe:

After getting tired of dumping my bound weapons as I progressed through the game, I decided to give myself an overhaul of the system. My main aim was to remove the Soul Trap which felt unnecessary, as well as the frankly annoying Turn Undead effect. I offer you, the community, my personal mod solution to use/edit/throw into the trash as you see fit.

List of bound equipment overhaul functions:

Introducing Bound Shield as an Apprentice level skill (left hand only), with appropriate ward upgrades from perks.

Changed base perk requirements to make them more balanced for new effects. Details below.

Trying to make a bound device advance with the player without actually editing the intrinsic damage value.

An attempt is made to touch the system as little as possible to provide as much compatibility as possible, however, other effects modes affecting the 3 vanilla bound weapon perks will conflict. "Version" and "Spellpath" (different download) versions are now available, details can be found at the bottom of the page.

Permissions and thanks:

Feel free to use anything from my mod as long as no money is involved, if you use any shield art/models please thank warreko.

Shield assets were collected from warreko's aptly named "Bound Shield with FX" mod, many thanks to them for permission to use their assets. Additionally, here is a link supporting their work:

Regular version:

As a note, this version hasn't been thoroughly tested yet as I'm making the mod for an ongoing modlist and I'd rather not get frustrated. I believe my perks will work, but the functionality of the Presator …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
