About this mod Machine translation
Give your vampire lords and ladies the big bad wings they deserve!
Preface:
I've never been a fan of Lord Vampire's Tattered Stump. Grimoa's great mod gives us proper wings, but I wish they looked bigger and more dramatic. I've been playing Skyrim. My tinkering abilities are limited, but after running into difficulties on the forums, I spent some time getting to grips with NifScope and made this.
This mod only increases the size of the vampire Lord's wings.
Choose your version: 25%, 50% or 100% larger.
It affects both men and women.
It has no legacy meshes or textures, making it compatible with everything except the skeleton replacer.
(XPMSSE users please read Installation)
*Requires Grimoas Vampire Lord, otherwise they don't look right! *
This is an Oldrim mod, but it works on SSE.
I used Vampire Lord Retexture, but any retexture would be fine.
>Installation<<
Choose a version and install it using your mod manager.
If you are not using any skeleton replacers that affect the Vampire Lord, choose vanilla.
If you are using XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended - XPMSSE
Install first and then select one of my XP32 builds to have my mod override.
This mod only makes scaling changes to Groovtama's VL skeleton, so it won't cause problems with the setup.
>Uninstall<<
Whenever it should be safely removed. If you installed manually remove
data/grid/actor/vampirelord/character assets/skeleton.nif
>Known issues<<
(1) "The bones in those wings are so big they can't fly!" I know I can't change that because the scaling will affect the entire wing evenly. I'm guessing it can only be fixed by editing the mesh, which is beyond me. If it bothers you, opt for the smaller version - or just admire those impressive muscles!
(2) If you have a mod that enables cloaks, some clipping will occur.
>Will this work for Oldrim? <<
Can't tell. I don't have Oldrim installed so I can't test it, and I'm not sure if its skeleton is backwards compatible.
>How to DIY <<
If you are not satisfied with the size, you can replace it yourself in NifScope. This is how I do it:
short version
Extracted my mod and found skeleton.nif then opened it in NifScope, found the RightWing1 and LeftWing1 bones and scaled them.
gradually
(because how can a newbie like me shout?! on the screen a few times)
Downloaded NifScope and extracted my mod somewhere.
OpenNifScope. File > Open > Navigate to My Mods > Find skeleton.nif and open it.
BSFadeNode Skeleton.nif and left click on it. You should now see the skeleton in the preview.
To make any changes you need to turn on the "Show nodes" option on the top toolbar (symbol: three dots linked by rows).
With Show Nodes enabled, look at the preview and left-click on a point that forms the wing. It may take a few tries, Zoom helps. In the left panel under "Block List" a new bone/node list will appear.
Find RightWing1 in the list. Select it, right-click and go to Transform > Edit, then select Yes to pop up the warning. Edit what you want under zoom and accept. Right click on RightWing1 again and go to Transform > Apply. Pop-ups yes.
Find LeftWing1. Copy what you did in (6)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
