4107/5000TACTSUIT VR

illustrate

This mode communicates with the Tactsuit to provide you with tactile feedback when certain events are detected in SkyrimVR.

It supports Tactot (haptic vest for torso), Tactosy (haptic sleeve for weapons) and Tactal (haptic facial cushioning for HMD)

These are the currently implemented haptic effects:

When the player is attacked: (These feedback files apply to the angle they are coming from)

Melee weapon attack effects. Different weapon types provide different tactile feedback (fists, axes, daggers, swords, maces...)

Recognizes left and right slashes for melee weapon attacks and plays corresponding effects.

Melee attack power effect (there is no difference between different weapon types at this time)

Melee slam attack effect.

The player blocked the hit effect with a shield or weapon.

Ranged weapon attack effects.

Magic attack effect. Different types of spells result in different tactile feedback.

Shout out the attack effect.

Bite attack effect.

Default attack for traps or environmental hazards/explosions etc.

When a player attacks:

Player shout effect (runs before the actual shout regardless of anything it hits)

Players cast spells on the appropriate arm. This has different feedback effects for different spell types (Fire, Ice, Shock, Alteration, Magic, Illusion, Light, Restoration, Ward, Other).

Player bow draw and hold effects.

Players melee hit the arm with the appropriate effect. It doesn't only work when the player attacks another actor. Also applies to some objects recognized by the engine.

Other feedback effects:

Wall of Power Effect (a unique effect that plays on a loop before the power is learned, increasing in strength as the player gets closer to the word)

Dragon Soul Absorb effect (after killing the dragon, when you absorb the soul, a unique effect will be produced)

Heartbeat and rapid heartbeat effects (when player health is below 20% and 10%)

Effect of raincoat on vest, arms and face

Effects of potion drinking and healing spells on the vest.

Swimming is recognized (while the player is in water) and the swimming effect is on the vest.

Effect configuration

This mod uses .tact files and can be easily designed in bHaptics Designer. You can also modify these feedback files that come with the mod. Tact files are located in SKSE\Plugins\bHaptics.

Tact files are named by the effects they are assigned to. For example, when a creature bites, the "Bite_1.tact" file is run. You can add another feedback file to this effect by making a Bite_2.tact or Bite_Hard.tact file and placing it in the SKSE\Plugins\bHaptics directory. As long as a file starts with "Bite_" it will be recognized and when the effect is to be run, one of the files will be randomly selected.

Tact files starting with "Magic", "Melee", "Ranged", "Shout", etc. are the player's re-attacks.

Tact files starting with "player" are used for player attacks. For example, "PlayerShout", "PlayerAttack", "PlayerSpell", etc.

The player arm effect comes with left and right effect files such as "PlayerSpellFireLeft_1.tact" and "PlayerSpellFireRight_1.tact".

Some melee effects on players have left and right slashes, such as "MeleeAxe_1.tact" and "MeleeAxeLeft_1.tact".

I encourage you to create and share your witty files to help others enjoy them.

INI CONFIGURATION

The mod also comes with an ini file. (SKSE\Plugins\tactsuit_vr_plugin.ini).

There you can set various settings such as sleep duration between feedback, left-hand mode support, loggin …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
