BETRAYAL IN HROTHGAR
Added a way to resolve the Civil War questline/season unchanged.
During the peace talks in High Hrothgar, when asked if Elenwen should stay or leave, respond to a new dialogue option that she should die. Civil war resolution ensues! You can also remove from the Greybeards faction (plays well with Paarthurnax Dilemma).
Alternatively, if you just want to skip the Civil War questline, you can more or less use console commands (see below) or cheat items (look for the staff between the south wall of Riverwood and the river).
Known errors:
- In the High Hrothgar scene, player animations would sometimes be enabled again within player-controlled time. So make a save game before trying it.
- Sometimes negotiations don't start due to a bug in the engine, leaving everyone standing around the table staring at each other's knives. To fix this: 1) Select Galmar Stone-Fist via the console 2) Enter "disable" 3) Enter "enable" 4) Exit the console.
Change log
Version 1.1 - More refined
- Civil War introductory missions are now turned off by default so they don't break your immersion when playing the Second Great War
- The old behavior can be enabled by setting the stage 9 configuration mod.
- Fixed an issue with completing "Season Everywhere" in the Journal
Version 1.0 - Beta version.
- Make Hjaalmarch/Winterhold switch directions - This is to ensure that the truce talks in "The Fallen" will be canceled if the civil war is resolved; apparently it only makes sense when using cheats or these console commands:
setstage bahcwpaxos 60; forcing the empire to victory
setstage bahcwpaxos 70; forces Stormcloack to win
setstage bahcwpaxos 50; force a random win (there is a duel, but it's rigged)
You can also use stages 7 and 8 to configure the mod's behavior. 7 will add a magic anomaly to the battle, and 8 will also make the capital hold the winner. The latter will ruin your immersion, as Galmar will still be in the same room as Legate, the new Empire in Windhelm, plotting against the Empire. This is because the introductory missions and scenarios for Civil War are wide open and largely unchanged; I have a feeling it will stay that way until another mod comes along that finally resolves the simulation and/or Jagged Crown arc.
Version 0.9 - Beta version of mission content
- Changed the edit name of the task from VxCWPaxos to BaHCWPaxos (this is to avoid conflicts with Vaticidal)
- New dialogue option for completing Diplomatic Immunity (you always do it in the vanilla game)
- Player character is initially paralyzed by the damage-free variant of Ice Shout
- and eventually banished to the High Hrothgar Courtyard, the rest of the action was wrapped up as a mission for Mother Wind Magazine
Version 0.8 - Beta version of the End the Civil War questline. Dialogue needs some reform, but quests shouldn't get stuck or broken. All active Civil War missions should be cancelled, except for the first one: if you haven't joined one of the armies before, it should be possible to join the winning side and start taking the oath.
Version 0.6 - Semi-immersive (with cutscenes that disable player controls), managed to continue through the remainder of the Fallen main mission; the closure of the Civil War mission was barely resolved.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
