Basic camp equipment
Make basic camping gear and beartraps. 1. Put the item down in front of you. 2. Activate it when closed. 3. Grab (or activate from a distance) to retrieve it. This is not a survival mode, but due to standard campfire lights, campfires and cooking fires should be considered heat sources.

General precautions
The goal of this mod is to make interaction as simple as possible. There's a handy feature for quickly placing a campfire and roasting pan, and if you have a tent, lowering the tent will also place a sheet. If you're standing on a slope, there are no special menus, no forced time delays or other survivor features, and no special checks to prevent items from getting clipped to the ground. If you are looking for those Chesko campfire models you want, please visit:
To keep things simple, a tanning rack is used to craft everything.
All items can be picked up via the Grab action or activated within the activation distance limit. (The remote activation method is for VR users who apparently can't grab them.)
Item names all contain a small dot, placing them at the bottom of the inventory list.
You probably don't want to make all of them. My personal setup is just bedding and cooking. This gave me a place to sleep, a source of heat and a way to cook. I usually clean out the local cave or dungeon before bed, but if you like the open air you may want a fur tent. Of course, more sophisticated travelers may prefer the linens, emperor tents, hotpots, and full-size campfires.
Version 2.0 added fur cushions and modified tent behavior.
repeatable projects
Beartrap
Beartraps automatically open when dropped. (If they fall out of sight, they will return to your inventory so you can try again.) They cause the enemy's health to be affected by 10% and hold the enemy in place for 1 second when triggered. They are not affected by the Lightfoot perk, but if triggered by a player, teammate, or friend, they only deal 2% damage and last approximately 0.2 seconds.
Warning: If you drop multiple beartraps from your inventory at once, only one trap will appear in the world and the others will be destroyed.
Bedroll
Just a simple and practical sheet can be used anytime and anywhere.
Cookfire
A smaller version of the standard campfire with a small enclosed stove.
Cookpot
Open pot on stand. Technically, it doesn't need to work.
campfire
A standard campfire that you probably don't want to use indoors. If you also have a cooker in your inventory, it will be placed with the campfire, and if there is already a cooker nearby, the campfire will be placed near it.
carpet
A fur rug provides you with a place to sit cross-legged. If you place some rugs next to a campfire, nearby relaxing (AKA sandbox) NPCs may decide to sit on them.
tent
There are two types of tents, fur and empire style. If you still have a sheet, it will automatically be placed inside the tent (they will all be put back when you pitch the tent). If you place a tent near an existing sheet, it will sit correctly on the sheet (then bring the tent to remove both).
Activating the Empire Tent will have you sitting cross-legged inside, while activating the Fur Tent will have you lying on your back with your arms folded behind your head.
Markers in tents can be used by followers and other NPCs if they are relaxing nearby (AKA sandbox).
You and NPCs can pass through tent walls. This is required because if collision is enabled you (and NPCs) will get stuck inside after using them and the camera view will be severely restricted. Going through the wall isn't ideal, but it's a better option than getting stuck in the wall.

GENERAL NOTES
The goal of this mod is to keep the interactions as simple as possible. There is a convenience feature allowing quick placement of the campfire and a cookpot together and dropping a tent will also place a bedroll if you have one. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
