barren world
What's this?
Mods that increase the difficulty of the game by doing the following:
- General rare container/actor loot, special/boss loot untouched
- Specific less arrow loot
- Especially less locked loot
- Reduced specific food predation (0% chance of binding to RNAD as food will spoil)
- Ownership of all inner/outer world items, including various plants that should be owned because it is not yours (leeks, potatoes, etc.)
Install?
Please use Mod Organizer 2 and don't look back...I assume you know what to do?
How would you get such convenience?
- Hacker’s Loot List
- Add ownership to object references
- Add ownership scripts to objects that cannot have ownership, such as f.e. trees and plants (leeks, potatoes, etc.)
Are there any restrictions?
Depends on what you consider "limitations"?
But this isn't custom content for custom content, is there custom support on my custom super custom built computer game?
Mod creators who add new world items/containers may claim ownership. It's not my job to retweet this. I can only provide patches for mods I use myself.
Any errors?
No I realized right away. So this model is like 4-5 years old, although there may still be some issues between my extremely strict quality assurance. Unfortunately, I don't know what other users are doing in their games. So feel free to report any issues. I would like to have a 100% free bug mod.
Wait, what's the mod part of your Legendary Skyrim Overhaul?
That's true. There are different reasons for merging into a single addon in Legends of Skyrim. In the Special Edition this no longer applies as the engine is very powerful and the plug-in limitations are useful. Single Mods are easier to develop, easier to track, and open up more options. So I'm rebuilding the overhaul to allow for a more modular approach and a better way to strip out the functionality covered by the new mod. To do this, I want to outsource a lot of functionality. So keep your eyes open for more single-purpose mods.
Why is 0.1 also known as BETA?
DLC isn't covered yet, so there are no patches for third-party mods, so future updates are highly likely.
What exactly is covered?
All general level list content has reduced "cannot find chance" to 90-95%, and no loot has been touched. In it, food, lodckpicks and arrows have been reduced even more to increase the difficulty. I want to force you to make this tuff yourself.
For world objects: All settlements are covered, I've visited, and are inhabited by "normal" civilians. This includes f.e. Battleborn Farm, Dragon Bridge and various mines. You can't help by reporting on areas that haven't been covered yet, but make sure you don't.

A Barren World

A Mod to increase game difficulty, by doing the following things:
- scarce container/actor loot in general, special/boss loot untouched
- specifically less arrow loot
- specifically less lockpick loot
- specifically less food to loot(chance virtualy 0% in combination with RNAD, because food can spoil)
- ownership on all interior/exterior world items, including diverse flora that should have ownership because it isn't yours(leek, potatoes etc.)
Installation?
Please use Mod Organizer 2 and don't look back...I assume you know what to do then?
How would you allow for such convenience?
- hacking loot lists
- add ownership to object references
- add ownership script to objects, that couldn't have ownership set, like f.e. tree flora(leek, potatoes etc.)
Any Limitations?
Depends on what you consider "limitations"?
But, but this will not cover custom content, from custom mods, with custom support on my custom superduper custom built computergame?
Mod creators that add new world items/containers, that shouldn't be easy lootable, are supposed to apply ownership. Not my job to forward this. I can provide patches only for mods I use myself …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
