Empire Rewards

Version history:

1.1:

  • Added Stormcloak rewards. Ulfric will now give a true Imperial officer's sword when he says this.
  • Royal Fortress commanders now look partial and carry the appropriate equipment.
  • Your final reward from Tullius/Ulfric is now a unique model sword made by Ronnie Magnum.

1.0 - Initial version.

describe:

So, you join the Imperial Legion, they equip you with the armor of your choice, and that's it. From that point forward, all other quest rewards are randomly generated crap, like the Daedric giant sword, which has no place or logic in the Imperial Army.

This mod makes the Imperial Legion (and v1.1's Stormcloaks) questline feel more immersive and rewarding. Just like Imperial Legion rewards in Morrowind - you rise in rank and gain new friendly Imperial gear.

This mod does the following:

  • General Tullius will now reward you with the appropriate items for each mission you complete. There are 4 new Imperial Swords, as well as a new helmet, each with better stats and new elegant textures. This also fixes a bug where Tullius would say "there's this blade" and he'd give you a shield from a random item level list. The Good General now also carries one of these new swords, suitable for generals.
  • Legate Rikke now carries an Imperial shield and a new officer's sword instead of a steel sword and iron shield (wtf Bethesda, she's an emissary of the Imperial Legion!).
  • All other Legates in the game now carry Imperial Officer Swords, except those using two-handed weapons.
  • Beirand, the Imperial Blacksmith in Solitude, will now sell Imperial Bows and Vanilla Imperial Swords. Once you don the Imperial armor, you can now easily complete the look and become a true Legionnaire.
  • Penitus Oculatus officers now also have proper swords.
  • If you have completed the Civil War quest line, I added all new items to the Imperial Armory (Solitude -> Castle Dour -> first right turn, down the stairs). They're behind a locked main door, so you can break in and steal them.

I've worked tirelessly on this mod and tested it to hell. I actually started a new game and replayed the entire Civil War questline to make sure everything was working properly. Very clean with minimal editing. The textures are of high quality, the new weapon stats are logical, and it's very user-friendly. I hope you will like it.

Install:

Place the .esp and .bsa files in the data folder. Run using Mod Manager. This only works in Skyrim SE.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
