Available wooden stakes

by Franzie Valentina·v1.0·Updated 2020-01-31

This mod allows you to go to any stake and use it. (These are used by NPCs). An example of their use is in Riverwood's Faendal. If he's not chopping wood, he usually gathers it and places it near Alvor's Forge. In the mod file I'll show you how to do this with original Skyrim.

First off, I'd like to thank the folks in the Contact Forum (both the Universal Toolkit and the Creation Toolkit) for helping me make my first model. The main people who gave me information on what to do, or simply adapted my workaround, were: Cumbrianlad and IsharaMeradin. The account I posted on the forum to get help with was my old account SRSbladez. But I have since set up a new account.

Another person I want to praise is the creator of Sepredia (Tamira). I searched for years trying to find a mod that added usable stakes and found a forum where someone asked this question, which led to the Sepredia mod. It turns out that there was a place for the piles available at the back of the house. So I went into the creation kit, looked around and figured out how to fix it. I'll add the image to the mod file, along with a short tutorial on how to do this yourself. in short. Big thanks to Tamira for making Sepredia.

▼▼Installation▼▼

To install the mod, drag and drop files from the Data folder. Go to the Skyrim Special Edition data folder.

▼▼Information▼▼

Since this is my first mod, all criticisms are great.

▼▼Information on the MOD I am making▼▼

I'm currently working on the "Firewood Storage" mod. The first thing to do is to make all medium-sized wood piles usable for storage. There are identical wooden piles throughout Skyrim. For example: Medium stakes are not reused, so if you place firewood into Riverwood firewood, it will be shared with a Whiterun stake or a Solitude stake. But in the future, I may add different storage units for different areas. In this case, the same town is included; the stakes will go through "Whiterun Warehouse (first), Whiterun Warehouse (second), Whiterun Warehouse (third), and so on.

I'm also working on a woodcutter's diary. I doubt anyone will ever read them, but I find them interesting.

▼▼BUGS▼▼

I noticed these errors. They are both games themselves and I don't believe I can solve them. They are not the end of life, but they are here.

•If you use a stake and then put firewood into inventory, the character will still be holding the stake. Fix-Sprint

•Transport it to people who buy firewood and sell it to them. The above problem occurs. The fix is the same, Dash.

•Sometimes when you go to pick up wood and put it down. Your character is stationary and the camera is locked. Usually spamming me the E button, like wait for it. However. I recommend you save before using the pile. In case this happens, you can reload the save which worked for me. I have tested this by enabling and disabling all modules. So I think this is another bug in the game since it's not meant for players to use.

If you encounter other errors. Please let me know, I don't think anything else should be added as it only allows the stakes from the base game to be available. It's not replacing anything, it's not moving anything. So I hope it's good.

▼▼Why no video▼▼

Around June of last year, my graphics card died. So I reverted to GT710. This means that even at the lowest settings imaginable, my games are rocking as hell, and so are my videos. I use NVIDIA Shadow Play for recording and it works great. But with OBS, no matter how low my bitrate is. The video is basically a slideshow of pictures, so I could only take screenshots. Damn shame, may my 1050 year old TI rest in Sovngarde.

▼▼Requirements▼▼

If you ask me to place the stakes where you want them to be in the game. Feel free to message me on or Discord. I don't really visit many but do check them out from time to time.

My Discord name is the same as my old account: SRSBladez#7278

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
