About this mod Machine translation

This is an update to Kronixx's classic mod, Atlas Map Markers. It adds MCM options for full control over new markers as well as all vanilla map markers.

Explore Skyrim and discover hidden and hard-to-find locations like wilderness camps, shrines, cave exits, and more. This is an update to Kronixx's classic mod, Atlas Map Markers. It builds on the original model and adds MCM options for full control over new map markers as well as all vanilla map markers.

feature

Over 700 new map markers have been added to the game.

World maps and map markers for Blackreach, Soul Cairn, and Forgotten Vale help you navigate these areas and enable fast travel.

All map markers can be configured quickly and easily using the Mod configuration menu.

Vanilla map markers are also fully configurable, allowing you to completely customize the markers shown on the map.

Map markers can be set to Default, Undiscovered, Discovered or Disabled.

Includes MCM options for adjusting Compass settings (value set to vanilla by default).

Bug fixes and updates to some map markers.

An ore's ore type is inserted into its name (for example: Embershard Iron Mine).

Compatibility of unofficial patches is handled automatically.

Includes FISS support, allowing you to save settings as custom presets.

suggestion

  • FISSES - Required if you want to use the preset options.
  • Atlas Map Markers - or another mode that resizes map icons to make them smaller (specifically, you're looking for the map.swf file). But please note that if you install this mod, you should not install the "Atlas Legendary.esp" plugin as it will conflict with my version of Atlas Map Markers. Again, the "Atlas Compass Tweaks.esp" plugin is not needed as these tweaks can be made using MCM in my version. All other options, including blackreach textures, can be installed with my version of Atlas Map Markers without conflicts.

change

The Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) allows you to select which map markers to activate. Most map markers are enabled by default and will only appear after you discover the location. However, any and all markers can be disabled to remove them from the map. Additionally, I've included options that allow you to configure almost any vanilla map marker, so you can completely customize your map with the markers you want and need.

Skyrim's process of updating maps isn't the fastest feature in the game. The map will wait for updates before you exit MCM, and it may take a few minutes to complete. This is especially true if you have edited many different categories of settings and the script must handle a large number of map markers. You can continue playing while the map updates, but you will not be able to access Atlas MCM again until it is complete.

I've also made some minor fixes and bug fixes to vanilla map markers and Atlas markers. These changes primarily consist of changing the icons used by map markers to be more consistent with the type of location they represent. A complete list of these edits can be found in the readme file.

Ice Cave now uses the previously unused "Ice Cave" icon to add some variety.

Imperial fortress icons (towers with flags) are now used to represent fortresses occupied (or potentially occupied) by friendly or "legal" factions. This includes bandit-controlled fortresses, which can eventually be taken over by Imperial or Stormcloak troopers, as well as fortresses controlled by legally recognized groups like the Thalmor or Morag Tong.

Use default

To use the preset options, you need to download and install the FileAccess interface for Skyrim SE Scripts (FISSES). After installing FISSES, you will be able to save and load your settings as custom presets, allowing you to quickly and easily reconfigure your menus with your preferred settings. Each time you save a new preset, it overwrites the previous one, so you may want to back up any custom presets you create. …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
