About this mod Machine translation
Take Astrid with you on your travels. The sounds are clear and include regular Astrid, Burning Astrid and Ghost Astrid!
*Dark Brotherhood mission spoiler alert*
Are you like me? Even if she betrays you, are you still hesitant when you have to kill Astrid in the Dark Brotherhood quest line? Did you know you would miss her? Or did you kill her and want her to torture her again? If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, then this module is for you.
Sithis heard our pleas and allowed us to enter the void and bring Astrid back. Now, she's a full-fledged follower who still uses her unique voice!
I searched for a while and was surprised to find that no mod does this yet. If anything, I apologize. The only one I've found is a mod that adds the Astrid npc after the quest line is completed, but she doesn't even have Astrid's voice, only Lydia's. So I decided to make this mod. I spent several hours sifting through Astrid's voice files to find the ones that worked. She has about 50 lines so far.
This version is for the Special Edition. The Legend Edition version can be found here.
To find Astrid, you must first loot her body after killing her in the DB questline. Then follow the prompts and enjoy the short missions.
Alternatively, you can cheat and just use the console command "coc Void1". Get ready to fight.
If you are lazy, there is a version titled "Astid Reborn 2.0 For the Lazy Adventurer". After loading the mod, spells and notes will be added to your inventory.
Whichever method you choose, always make sure you read the note called "Accept." This will activate Astrid's dialogue.
No! You don't even need to start or complete the Dark Brotherhood questline, just use the console commands as needed.
v2.0
Dialogue has been revolutionized.
Added a custom frame so she no longer uses the vanilla frame.
This means Astrid should now work perfectly with all other mods! [Nothing but alternatives, but I'm working on it]
This should also completely resolve the dialogue bug
Join Burnt Astrid
Added ghost Astrid
Both new versions also have spellbooks
Removed the trap door in Shadowmere Pond and added an unmarked mini-quest instead.
Replace Astrid's dagger with a horizontal one
New dialogue lines added. There are about 50 of this version.
Hope the gray face error is fixed permanently
v1.1 (only for LE)
Added summoning spell
Grayface bug fixed
Fix dialogue errors
Removed hood
Swap Bane Blade for Iron Dagger
Use TES5Edit to clean files
When you read the note titled "Accept," all three Astrids appear and are already your followers. This happens before the annotation is added, and the actual reason the annotation even activates the Astrid dialog. This is the best solution I could find.
Fire all three and then recruit them again or you will lose access to their inventories.
Astrid does not work with EFF (Extended Follower Framework). You will have to force recruit her through the MCM. Don't do this when you are following her, she will snap when you try to dismiss her. I personally recommend using Amazing Follower Tweaks, she can also be used with UFO-Ultimate Follower Overhaul.
She also pairs perfectly with "My Home Is Your Home"
Still doesn't work with alternatives. I will be making patches for each replacer as soon as possible.
All I'm really going to do now is add some dialogue or enable her to get married. And of course her work with the bench.
Hoping for a better sanctuary after the quest line ends? Dark Brotherhood Reborn
Want the DB armor in the screenshot? Arise-Chapter 1-The Black Sacrament
This is another dark armor piece that I love. vampire armor
The Dark Brotherhood questline has been my favorite since the Obsession.
FAQ
Q: Why can't I marry her? Let her get married!
Answer: Don't ask this. Astrid's husband was murdered in the same incident that killed her! Do you really think she is willing to marry you just because you brought her back to life? Monster, at least give her some time to grieve. [I may eventually ad …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
