1907/5000 In vanilla Skyrim arrows and bolts themselves are not affected by any effects or enchantments and only provide a slight flat damage boost. I scrapped the arrow tempering concept early in development because it managed over twenty pre-existing arrow types into a complete cluster, ultimately adding only two new bolts and simplifying overall ammo progression.

Main features:

All arrow and bolt types deal approximately 2x extra damage and balance progression. (e.g. Steel Arrows now deal 20 damage to your shots instead of 10)

Two new types of bolts - Stalhrim and Dragonbone, with corresponding forging skills

Correct inventory automatically sorted by name - 'arrow - x' and 'bolt - x'

Many miscellaneous tweaks (12 bolts instead of 10, price changes, etc.)

Vanilla projectiles and bow/crossbow tempering/enchantments/potions remain unchanged

I had a fix somewhere that would make your game choose the strongest arrow/bolt instead of the weakest equipped bow/crossbow, but it was made so long ago that I completely forgot where it was, so it didn't make it into this version. Most likely it will be added later, but it will be a low priority. Also, it should be noted that the new bolts use the stock steel bolt texture. I use 'borrowed' textures in my own games but won't include those assets here for obvious reasons.

Install:

Use NMM or manually remove the .esp from the downloaded archive into the \Skyrim Special Edition\Data folder and enable it in the load order as low as possible. To uninstall, simply delete the file or use the "Uninstall" function in NMM.

Skyrim will re-read these settings every time you launch the game, so these changes will not be stored in your save file. Mods can be installed/removed at any time, just make sure to sell or move new Stalhrim and Dragonbone bolts to merchants or respawn containers to prevent any possible save mess with unused data. ——————————————————————————————————————————————

In vanilla Skyrim arrows and bolts themselves are not influenced by any perk or enchantment and offer just a minor flat damage boost. I scrapped arrow tempering concept early in the development as it turned managing over 2 dozen preexisting arrow types into a complete clusterfuck and ended up just adding 2 new kinds of bolts and streamlining overall ammo progression.

Key features:

All arrow and bolt types give approximately 2x bonus damage, balanced for progression. (e.g. steel arrow now adds 20 flat damage to your shot instead of 10)

Two new types of bolts - Stalhrim and Dragonbone, craftable with corresponding smithing skills

Proper inventory autosorting by name - 'Arrows - X' and 'Bolts - x'

A lot of miscellaneous tweaks (12 bolts crafted instead of 10, pricing changes etc)

Vanilla ballistics and bow/crossbow tempering/enchantments/potions are unchanged

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
