If you like this mod, don't forget to support it!

As the name suggests, Arrow Recovery System Overhaul (A.R.S.O) revolutionizes the way you retrieve arrows and bolts.

Instead of randomly disappearing from corpses when hitting a target, arrows have a chance to break.

When a target is lost, there is also a chance that a loose arrow will break once the target is found.

The chance of an arrow breaking (either a hit or a miss) is not calculated by a simple value.

Instead, the resistance for each arrow type is automatically calculated and fully configurable via the mod menu (for each arrow type).

After retrieving Broken Arrow, you have 2 options:

-Chop wood to recreate arrows with the pieces you pick up.

-Resell broken pieces for half the price of the original complete arrowhead.

If you're on a tight budget, or you want to forge your own arrowheads, know that merchants can sell you every type of arrowhead.

This gives you the satisfaction of making your own arrows and improving your blacksmithing skills.

Note, however, that some arrows cannot be repaired if you don't have a forging tool. (i.e. Dwarf Arrow: Dwarf Smith)

In addition to this, an automatic retrieval system for arrows near you has been implemented:

Once an arrow is retrieved (whatever it may be), you will automatically retrieve all other arrows within a configurable radius.

You can choose to retrieve all types of arrows, or only those that match the first arrow you retrieve manually.

It is also possible to include NPC corpses in radius searches.

Every arrow from the base game, DLC and even Mods (all types) is recognized by Mods and fully customizable.

For simple configuration of the mod, it is highly recommended (although not required) to use SkyUI so that the MCM can be accessed.

If you don't have SkyUI, you can use the classic menu with the same options (minus arrow customization) via the Power menu.

This mod requires Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE64) 2.0.7 or higher to be installed.

This mod modifies things about vanilla arrows and is therefore compatible with all other mods.

Question: It says to install Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE64), what do I do?

A: You can download SKSE64 here and there is a video on how to install it.

Question: Will this mod work with SkyUI? If so, is this mandatory?

A: The mod is compatible, but not mandatory.

Question: Can it be used with [xxx] mod?

Answer: This mod is designed not to change the content of the original game.

Therefore, there is no risk of conflicts with other mods.

Question: Is this mod compatible with mods that add/modify arrows and bolts?

A: As mentioned above, A.R.S.O does not modify or add arrows, so it is compatible with all other mods.

Q: None of the arrows in my game are available in the mod parameters, what should I do?

Answer: You must equip or own each type of non-vanilla arrowhead at least once to be recognized by A.R.S.O.

Question: Approach arrow retrieval takes a long time, what should I do?

A: If you have checked the "Remove arrows from corpses" option, try unchecking it.

Question: The mod arrows I want to uninstall are now part of the A.R.S.O parameters, will this cause issues with my game?

Answer: If A.R.S.O notices that the mod file has changed, it will automatically update its parameters and there should be no problem.

Question: I want to uninstall A.R.S.O, will this create an error in my save file?

A: You can uninstall A.R.S.O without worrying about damaging your save files.

Question: What is the loading order?

A: You can put A.R.S.O anywhere in the list, it doesn't matter.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
