Force all Imperial soldiers to wear heavy armor

If you're like me and think the military should have its soldiers wear the same gear because that's the uniform, look no further! This is the mod you're looking for!

There are several mods out there that aim to achieve the same result by modifying the chance of soldiers spawning with reloads in the reload list. However, I still don't like the fact that it's still possible for them to spawn spiked or light armor (which I don't like at all). So I decided to take a different approach on this issue.

What I did was edit all the studded and light Imperial armor gear in the creation kit so that they use heavier armor instead. It's that simple. Now, there's no way for Imperial soldiers to wear anything different than heavy armor.

I only edited the Skyrim.esm file so nothing else is needed for this mod (I didn't even include the dlcs). Therefore it should be compatible with ANYTHING unless the mod edits the exact same outfit. If that's the case, just make sure to load this esp after someone else edits the same file to give mine priority.

Version Guide:

-Heavy: All Imperial soldiers wear heavy armor. Officers still wear officer helmets.

-Light: All Imperial soldiers wear light armor. Officers still wear officer helmets.

  • Plate Armor: All Imperial soldiers wear Plate Armor (light bracers, boots and helmet + Plate Breastplate). Officers still wear officer helmets.

-Hybrid: All Imperial soldiers wear light armor, except those who wear heavy armor by default (like officers), who replace it with plated armor. Officers still wear officer helmets.

Installation guide:

Manually: Just place the .esp file in the game's DATA directory and activate it in the launcher and/or mod manager.

Mod Manager: Install in the same way as other mods.

Note that if you install the mod on an already launched game, you may need to reload units or resurrect NPCs (via console commands) to update their equipment.

Uninstallation Guide:

Just delete the esp file. This should be safe to do mid-game, but you may need to reload units or resurrect NPCs to update their equipment (just like installing)

You can do anything you want with this mod, maybe give me credit if you use it.

Highly recommended patterns:

Immersive Armor by hothtrooper44 -

SEMPER FI (replacement file) for Rogue1024 -

Next step:

If I manage to do this, and I get permission from the hottrooper, I'm planning on making a new esp deployment to assign the Heroic Imperial armor from the Immersive Armors mod to all Imperial officers to make them different from regular soldiers.

If you are like me and think that an army should have its soldiers to wear the same equipment because, well, that's what a uniform is, then wander no more! here's the mod you were looking for!

There are a couple of mods out there that aim to obtain the same result by modifying the chance of the soldiers spawning with the Heavy Armor in leveled lists. However, i still didn't like the fact that there was still the chance that they would spawn with a studded or light armor (which i don't like in the slightest). So, i decided to take a different approach on the matter.

What i did was editing all studded and light imperial armor outfits in the creation kit, so that they used heavy armor pieces instead. Simple as that. Now, there's just NO WAY that imperial soldiers wear anything different than heavy armor set.

I only edited Skyrim.esm file, so nothing else (not even dlcs, i think) should be required by this mod. As such, it should be compatible with ANYTHING, unless a mod edits the very same outfits. If this is the case, just make sure you load this esp AFTER the other one editing the same files, so that mine will prevail.

VERSIONS GUIDE:

-Heavy: all imperial soldiers wear heavy armors. Officers still wear officer helmets.

-Light: all imperial soldiers wear light armors. Officers still wear officer helmets.

-Studded: all imperial soldier …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
