Armor Extended SE by Vaultman30

Merges all three Vaultman30's models - YAGA, simple Hauberks, early medieval Helms, including early version servos - into one. Also added beast race compatibility thanks to aicy!

  • Dozens of retextures and color variants of all V30 armor, as well as brand new sets - liners, scales and mail hauberks etc. - with crafting and tempering recipes. Clothing/armor level lists and store inventories have been completely reworked, and NPC equipment better reflects the new Dark Ages aesthetic. There's also been the addition of protective gear and new stuff in stores that make sense - for example, you can buy a suit of armor from a local blacksmith, pads and other light armor, which sells hunting supplies, etc.
  • Replace all vanilla armor and clothing with appropriate assets to reflect the loose 500-1200 AD period. We're talking Arthurian knights and late Roman inspired gear on one end, Norman style hauberks, surcoats, nasals and pothelms on the other, and everything else is comfortable in the Migration/Viking/Dark Ages.

Load Order/Compatibility - For best results, use a new game, otherwise you may need to use the resurrect command to see changes/fixes for NPCs, etc.

Since it makes changes to many NPCs/armor/outfits, it's best to have it relatively late in your load order. Load all patches under V30MergedReplacer.esp and all corresponding mods (except Imperial Patch which can be loaded above V30MergedReplacer.esp). To get the most out of the V30E, it should be used with merge/mash/smash patches - I can't stress this enough.

Current save - You may need to use the console command 'resurrect' to reequip NPCs in the current save game - at least in the cells you are already in.

Console Command Press the tilde key '~' in game, then click on the NPC and get their reference ID number, then type 'resurrect' without the quotes, then hit the 'enter' key and they should equip the new armor.

Bashed / Merged / Smashed Patches - You'll be best served by using a mod with bashed / merged / smashed patches! This way other mods won't undo the changes. For this reason, the mod is also marked as Relev/Delev - although you can always modify this in Wrye Bash if you wish.

Ecotone Dual Sheaths - All new shields are EDS ready. Just rebuild your patch!

Immersive Armor - Using this mod can disrupt the level list of V30E - or any related mod - as it uses scripts to add its armor to the game,

This could cause the game to revert to the vanilla list, wreaking havoc on one's saves. I stopped using it years ago - it was too intrusive. Also, IMHO it doesn't add anything that can't be obtained from better sources, better compatibility of mods with merged/bashed patches.

Patches and Plugins -

empire patch

Replaces all Imperial armor, shields and helmets with V30 content. You must include all meshes/textures in the main mod. Place the Imperial patch above the V30E in your load order. If you use EDS, remember to run your patch so the new shield is recognized.

BS Bruma patch

A comprehensive replacement that helps integrate BS Bruma and V30E, replaces guards, mail and iron armor, fixes differences in various clothing, increases workshop inventory, adjusts temperature recipes, enables bandits to wear more types of equipment, etc. Mod loaded under the V30E host.

Interesting NPCs

Help integrate 3DNPC and V30E, fix differences in various 3dnpc clothing, replace the armor of Blood of Skyrim and Garbania Guards, add appropriate armor to Falkreath and Morthal merchants added by 3dnpcs. Adds a universal heavy coat for Erevan and a range of White Rose coats and shields for Hiram, while also adding new items to the Khajiit caravan upon purchase.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
