apple dog
Please read the entire description before installing this mod.
Meet Apple. She will talk to you, she will follow you, she will fight for you.
She can be found in the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun.
Her strengths include looking cute, speaking human talk, and being immune to death.
Her appearance is based on my oldest Shiba Inu, Momoko. I call her an apple, because there are no peaches in Skyrim, and I might have made the legendary policeman set himself on fire in rage by uploading a talking dog.
Shiba Inu is very vocal and talkative, so I find this mod completely unrealistic.
Important notes
I'm thinking of testing this mod since I've never made a talking creature follower before. I don't think anything too terrible will happen (it certainly won't break your game), but there may be some issues that I didn't expect. For example, she should be a good girl and not try to equip armor and weapons. She doesn't try to sit in a seat suitable for humans. If you have any questions about her, I'd like to know.
When I created her, I also removed the bow from the minion's quest. It was something I wanted for myself, and when I started creating her, I never intended to share her with anyone else. I may restore this feature in a future version update.
If you use a follower framework like FLP, she won't be able to do everything the mod asks other followers to do. For example, trying to force her to change into clothes or armor is probably a bad idea, and since she's a dog, she won't be able to cast spells.
Do not use the console command unequipall on her or she will become invisible. She is just a beautiful soul inside a canine body.
Permissions
You can use the assets in this mod any way you want, but you probably won't use it in mods you sell or choose to donate points to. Also, please give me credit and I also ask you to PM me so I can see your work because it will make me happy.
integral
Thanks to XanderVirtus for uploading the mod that inspired me. I didn't use any of his assets, but it did make me consider putting my dog in the game. Please check out his mod Vanilla Dog to Husky Replacer.
Thanks to Humus' Cube, Apple gave her coat a subtle sheen:

FAQ.
Texture HD?
Sorry, I killed the laughter. No, these are vanilla resolutions. I wouldn't be surprised if you find flaws in the texture. I used my dog as inspiration to create this for me. I'm not worried about that, I realize I'm not a great artist. I actually used the vanilla husky texture as the base. Personally, I'm happy with the end result, but I would never mistake this for HD.
Why is this bigger than Shiba Inu?
It looks like this because I used an edited husky mesh to do this. To me it looks a lot like the shape of my Shibe, but this dog can be anything you like. There is no indication in the game that she is not a dog named Apple.
Why the House of Death?
In addition to the lovable little band of fuzzy warriors, dogs are also the stoic guardians of the underworld and the gateway to the world beyond this mortal plane.
I won't download this mod unless you change x,y and z!
Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to the back button on your browser. I have nothing to lose if you don't download it, and nothing to gain if you do.
How did you approach this animal topic?
Her body and fur are actually her armor. That's why it's important that you don't try to use console commands to remove all items or force her to wear an outfit that doesn't fit her using the follow frame. If you place some armor or clothing in her inventory, she shouldn't try to equip them because she's a dog and she should realize that she can't equip them. I say should because I have followers who have confidence in me for no apparent reason.
Can she do magic?
No. As far as I know, this isn't possible, but if I find a way, that's something I'd like to add.
Custom voiced sounds?
No, she …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
