This mod allows you to build small shacks anywhere you like and use them as the player's home. You can build as many sheds as you need.

-Wish you could buy a player house as soon as you start the game and take the risk without following the main quest?

-Want to live in the wild?

  • Don't want to follow certain quests just to get them to buy a house in your town?
  • Want to settle in one of these cities but don't want to pay high prices for established housing?

-Tired of waiting for compatibility patches for player homes and town overhaul mods?

-Wish you could live in one of the modded towns, but there's no player housing there?

This mod can solve all these problems! Build your shed early in the game and build it anywhere you want, even in dungeons!

set up:

Download using mod manager.

usage:

After completing the first mission of the game, you will leave Helgen. A little further down the road you'll find the carpenter's cabin. Underneath his work table is a chest where you can find your prototype house as well as the "Move Spell" for free. On the table you will find a book titled "Shed Buying Guide" and "Shed Destruction Axe". This guide will help you buy and build items from a carpenter and get information about almost every item and its uses. If you're mid-game, you can find the Carpenter in Whiterun. Other carpenters sell Shack Buying Guides at low prices.

put up:

Once you have your cabin in your inventory, find a good place where you want to build your cabin. Please be careful not to build huts in places where NPCs often hang out (such as on roads). Stand where you want the center of your shed to be and face in the direction you want to open the door. Save the game and delete your cabin from the inventory. You'll be asked a few questions and then the cabin will be built where you're standing. Use the Shack Buying Guide (in the readme or in-game version) for details on the build process.

carpenter:

Carpenters are specialized merchants who sell sheds and related items. When you exit the cave at the start of the game, one of them is outside Helgen, another is in the Warmaidens of Whiterun, and there are other carpenters in other areas of Skyrim. If you don't want to discover them yourself, check the "Alternatives" section for location.

These carpenters also double as "starter merchants", so they use mods like Frostfall and iNeed to sell the various items needed to start the game. This means that by simply traveling to Helgen to find a carpenter, you can start the adventure on your own without completing any quests. They also carry large amounts of gold and buy things like general merchandise merchants.

furniture:

In addition to the shed, the carpenter also sells a variety of supplements. These include:

Plank: A piece of wood that can be used to build other things. Can be placed high.

Stairs: Enter the trellises and planks erected above.

Household Furniture: Things that will clutter your shed or any other player. Including chairs, tables, cabinets, etc.

Crafting stations: including the game’s crafting stations, such as workbench, alchemy table, etc.

Chests: No respawn chests, in case you don't want to call a full-blown shed home. Chests can be marked on the map.

Barrels: Like boxes, but cheaper and lighter. However, you can only …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
