- introduce:
If you have custom third person animations installed (such as idle, walking, sneaking, etc.) and also use mods such as Improved Camera or Immersive First Person, you may experience strange camera behavior or clipping when playing in first person.
The goal of this little mod is to dynamically override the player's animation (only when in first-person view) for a better experience.
Currently, these replacement animations are just those in the default game assets (they work well with the first-person camera mod).
I originally made this for myself and I don't have the necessary knowledge to make new animations so don't expect anything as polished as I usually do. While it would be a good thing to share the idea of optimized first-person animation with the community, I still.
If you would like to share optimized third person animations for first person camera mods, please let me know!
NOTE: The dynamic animation replacer currently does not have an IsPC1stPerson() function, so I had to make a very lightweight ESPFE plugin as a workaround.
-Prerequisites:
Dynamic animation replacer
Improved camera or immersive first person
-Install:
To install mods automatically, use the mod manager of your choice.
-uninstall:
Just delete the "DAR-IsPC1stPerson.esp", "DAR-IsPC1stPerson.bsa" and "Meshes\Actors\Character\animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\-1000" folders from the data folder.
(Default: "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data")

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
