ancient egypt nile river

I've always wanted to find an ancient Egypt setting mod for Skyrim. To me, this history is fascinating. Egypt was ancient even to the ancients (Greece, Rome). Cleopatra is closer in time than the launch of the space shuttle, and even closer in time to the construction of its massive pyramids, which have been in existence for at least 4,500 years. This mod is the result of a desire to experience this mysterious late Bronze Age environment in Skyrim. Sadly, I find that there is a lack of any mods for Skyrim from this time/era, which makes me want to create my own. After encountering MannyGT's "Night Sky Gray C" and seeing his amazing builds, I knew I had to learn how to use the Creation Kit to make myself the mod I'd always wanted. Using the knowledge I already had about retexturing, I was able to create a historically themed Giza style pyramid/temple complex that intersects a tributary of the Nile and is surrounded by the city and mountains. After seeing the interest in my new world, I decided to share it and this is the result. I'm sure I'll add more to this and update it in the future. I've been inspired to make some great progress on this mod since I decided to share it, and so far it's far exceeded my expectations and, for me, Really captures the feel of that ancient era. There are no quests or NPCs. For now, it's mostly about immersing yourself in Egyptian-themed antiquity as well as screenshots and exploration. I added a lot of detail and tried to stay close to the authentic Egyptian temple designs such as Luxor and Karnak. The temple contains chambers and tombs containing huge treasures and royal residences. This great pyramid even has chambers and interiors loosely based on historical designs. Keep in mind this is my first time using a creation kit. I hope you like it.

How to Get There: Follow the passing signs on the south side of the Riverwood gate, just to the left of the rocky cove 10 feet from the road, you will see a small gate marked "Wilderness." question. If you just can't find the door, or the door is obscured or blocked by flora, open consol` and type "cow Nile 0 0" (without the quotes), making sure to capitalize Nile. If you installed everything correctly, that will take you to the front of the Great Pyramid.

Requests: Stunning gray hood from the Manny GT's Night Tuning Kit.

Installation: First download and install the Gray Fairing module, then download and install the Nile module. All my mod does is restore some of manny's items and use his mod as the main file to set up the architecture for my new world. If you want to play the gray cowl mod and don't like my historical textures, just uninstall my mod and all gray cowl textures will revert to normal.

Acknowledgments: Many thanks to MannyGt. This mod wouldn't be possible without his amazing gray cowl mod and the great building blocks and meshes in it. As soon as I saw his mod, I knew I could create the world mod I've always wanted. Please check out his page and endorse him.

Here are my favorite documentaries from this period:

Ancient Egyptian Nile

I have always wanted an ancient Egyptian setting mod in skyrim. This period in history to me is captivating. Even to the ancients (Rome, Greece) Egypt was already ancient. Cleopatra is closer in time to the space shuttle launch than she is to the building of the great pyramids which have existed for at least 4,500 years. This mod is the result of a desire to experience this enigmatic late bronze age environment in skyrim. Sadly I found a lack of any mods on this time/era for skyrim and this caused me to want to create my own. After coming across The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal by MannyGT and seeing his amazing buildings I knew I had to learn how to use the c …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
