Reimagine the Vanilla Alchemist's Hut into a simple yet comfortable and more functional player's home.
5000/5000 character limit: 5000 Continue translation (can also translate 5000 characters) My first mod version!
I've always loved The Alchemist's Hut. I love that it exists in the Rift's open world and hints at the story behind it. Despite the overhaul, I wanted to make a place of my own and decided to share the results. I tried to keep the (relatively) simple, rustic vibe while also making it more functional as a player's home ground and taking advantage of some of the amazing resources it has.
feature:
- All safe stores (no respawn containers), some named and some regular
-Bed gives bonus to rest
-A companion sheet that can be placed and put away as needed
-Animated transparent glass windows
-Each light can be turned on and off at its light source
-The furnace radiates warmth for Frostfall and similar mods
-Cooking pot
-Switch between alchemy and enchantment workbenches as needed
-Single object bookshelf for 40 books
-Potion shelf to store and display potions like a vanilla bookshelf
- Expanded fenced garden with soil for additional plants and firewood
-Few rebirth ingredient jars
-Two chicken nests and coop
-Root-like underground wine cellar for extra food/ingredient storage because I love ridiculously tiny spaces
-An outdoor laundry tub that doubles as a water model for bathing
-Outhouse for all your immersion needs
-A completely rewritten (and longer) Alchemist's Diary with some hand-placed narrative details intended to bring the life of the previous occupants to life. I tried to keep the person's past and ultimate fate vague, both to retain a sense of mystery and to allow the players to make their own stories and connections
- Includes Book Covers Skyrim improved journal meshes and textures - no patches required
- Optional add-on: additional shed with four bunk beds for followers
Problems/Limitations:
-The roof keeps out the rain but doesn’t shed aspen leaves or wayward butterflies
-I disabled the nearby predator spawners, but somehow the occasional wolf or bear still kills your chickens >:( Still trying to figure out where they came from...
I bring this up because I guess I'm in the minority, but I really love it when a house is cluttered. So if you tend to run around like a bull in a china shop, be aware that you might knock something off. I heartily recommend SomethingObscure's Tidy Up and/or locator mod to place the things you need
I did my best to make the activator easy to use, but it's a small space with a lot to click on. Can be a little tricky sometimes
-The actor using the cooking pot will be a little further from the ground. It's that, or clamp the pot to the stove
-Does not apply to spouse or children
-No display racks, mannequins, fire ovens, forges, tanning, workbenches, staff enchantments or things like spiders. This home was intended for alchemists (who might also be obsessed with black magic). If you need more crafting stations, warehouses, plants, etc., you can use Mentha's Alchemist's Crypt and Uzue's Alchemist's Crypt - Player Home
Note: I don't know what will happen if you use the activator to disable the furniture currently being used by the NPC. Probably a bad thing. Do so at your own risk.
-There are no plans for an Original Skyrim release as I don't have one at the moment. sorry:(
compatibility:
-Obviously not compatible with other mods that change the Alchemist hut or its exterior appearance
-Vanilla navmesh has been moved slightly around newly placed objects, using Navcut boxes where possible. If changes to the navmesh are overridden, nothing terrible will happen, but followers may get into trouble
-Load this mod after the grass mod's landscape fix
-Wet Cold, R.A.S.S. And there may be other mods with similar functionality: you can still get dripping/raindrop effects inside the house. I don't think there's anything I can do about this, but if anyone knows a solution I'm at a loss

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
