Does your Dovahkiin lack the confidence of a great or powerful hero? Look no further! An easy-to-use package provides the best of Oldrim and SSE.

It's been a while since a Skyrim Special Edition was up and running, and it's truly "special" in a graphical sense. But aren't you just tired of the characters on potatoes? Wasn't your character really epic before? Back when he/she actually deserved to be called DOVAHKIIN! Don't worry about the young ones, you are not alone, the Nine Gods have answered your prayers!

Aesthetic Animation Kit

Your one-stop solution to bring back the glory of your Dowa genes!

Give your Luang Phor a move so that he truly deserves the name.

Make your hero act like a hero!

If you're like me, you'll hate the fact that in Special Edition you don't have access to SKSE, SkyUI, MCM, etc. I mean, they were and still are the basis of our "modding adventures"! But hey, the developers are working hard on this to give their fans what they want. So while we wait for its official release (since the current version is still a "Modable-Only Alpha"), let's at least sort out the Dovahkiins just to inspire confidence! Let the keels we revere be as noble and powerful as them! Let's face it, the Dragonborn do seem to lack confidence in their abilities (inferred from their "oh, so vanilla" stance). For example, the mighty Dragon Sword shouldn't be held up with just two hands! For example, he can stroke his hair with his left hand.

What do you want to say?

In this build I aimed to search to find the best animation mods out there and bring them together in a symbiotic way. Each mod has been hand-picked, ripped apart (I don't mean to change every esteemed mod), and then perfectly combined with vanilla, resulting in a seamless (almost) seamless blend of various animated mods that we love in Oldrim.

But why do this?

I, along with thousands of others, discovered that the vanilla Skyrim animation was, to put it bluntly, boring. So when I started playing Special Edition, the first thing I looked for on was my main animation mod. But, to my dismay I can't find them! Little animation replacers here and there, but nothing sign of my usual. Later, I found out that they still haven't been ported to SSE. From now on, I started asking for permission to compile and port mods that SSE was sorely missing. And, I took on this project because no one else would!

What are the benefits of this version?

If you've been under the impression that this distro is just a compilation of ported mods, you've been mistaken for a young Padawan. Oh no, this isn't just about slapping a few different mods together and calling it a new version. As mentioned before, each mod has been hand-picked and optimized to better fit Vanilla Animations and more importantly each other. Multiple top animated alternatives are brought together here, each with its own unique theme. What I'm trying to achieve is to find a middle ground and make sure all the characters fit together seamlessly, like they're part of the same mod. This involved removing animations that "just didn't feel right" (there's no other way to explain this), as well as mixing and matching cross-mod assets with the original assets to achieve the desired effect that didn't break the immersion, but was still enjoyable. Eye.

Okay, I'm a little curious. What do you have for us?

I'm glad you asked ;)

Let's start by listing the resources used in the first suit (the initial release):

  • YY Animation Replacement - Mysterious Knight by yukl (most of the content I release is affected and follows the theme of this mod)
  • Run Sprint and Jump by Bergzore (the locomotive has heavily used the assets of this mod)
  • Light Foot - Jump animation for 5poiler (jumping has never been so graceful)
  • New "Sneaky Idle Animation" by nikvel (Finally! I no longer look like a frostbitten spider when I crouch!)
  • YY Anim Replacer-Zweihander by yukl (Yeah, I couldn’t include this one!)
  • 5poiler double enhanced anim …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
