About this mod Machine translation

Added Aequinoctium's weather to Obsidian Weather.

describe

----------------------------------

This basically weaves weather from Aequinoctium into obsidian. For those unfamiliar with both modes, Aequinoctium is vibrant fantasy, while Obsidian is dramatic realism. The authors of Aequinoctium (Omega) collaborated with Dr. Megaloblast to create Obsidian, so the similarities between the two modes allow for a fairly cohesive experience. There is no doubt that they have different styles, but the differences are not so jarring as to make them aesthetically incompatible. Aequinoctium Weather's base saturation has been reduced by approximately 15% to improve consistency. In the screenshot above, you can see the vibrant Aequinoctium Tundra weather versus the cold Obsidian Tundra weather. These additional weather events occur approximately 15% of the time. Skyrim will still feel as if it's under Obsidian Weathers, however, and every once in a while you'll get a vibrant change from Aequinoctium.

How I built this plugin

----------------------------------

I copied all the weather in Aequinoctium so they no longer behave as overrides that conflict with Obsidian. I then stripped Aequinoctium of all scripts and its control over weather frequencies. I then added Aequinoctium's weather to the Obsidian region's records so that the weather would appear alongside the Obsidian weather. I give them a low chance of happening so as not to disrupt the seasonal climate changes implemented by Obsidian.

compatibility

----------------------------------

  • No patches, not compatible with other weather mods or audio overhauls.
  • This mod is compatible with the Obsidian True Storms patch as well as Mintys Lightning.
  • This mod is not compatible with the Aequinoctium True Storms patch.
  • Aequinoctium is not required for this mod as the weather must be repeated to avoid overriding the obsidian weather.

Description

This essentially weaves the weathers from Aequinoctium into Obsidian. For those unfamiliar with the two mods, Aequinoctium is vibrant fantasy, while Obsidian is dramatic realism. The author of Aequinoctium (Omega) worked with Dr. Megaloblast to create Obsidian, thus, the similarities between the two mods allow for a fairly cohesive experience. Undoubtedly they are of different styles, but the differences aren't so jarring as to make them aesthetically incompatible. The base saturation for the Aequinoctium weathers was reduced by about 15% to improve consistency. In the screenshots above, you can see the vibrant Aequinoctium tundra weather versus the frigid Obsidian tundra weather.  These addon weathers occur about 15% of the time. Skyrim will still feel as if under Obsidian Weathers, however, every so often you'll get a vibrant change of style from Aequinoctium.

How I built this addon

I duplicated all the weathers in Aequinoctium so they would no longer be …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
