About this mod Machine translation
Have you ever wanted to be a Forsworn player, only to realize that your gear can no longer speed up beyond lvl30, so you chose Daedric and abandoned your roots? Well, this mod is for you. It adds advanced versions of all standard armor and weapons that can be crafted at the forge and are statistically identical to Daedric or Dragon gear.
high level gear
Have you ever been "late" in some faction questline like "Companions" and then they give you a super cool armor combo and you're like "yeah, some neat Wolf armor at the end" and then look at the stats and be like, "Wow-? Even though it's supposed to be Skyforge Steel, is this worse than DWARVEN?" and then you put the Wolf armor on the mannequin and that's it? Well, no more. With this mod you can dedicate your precious rewards to any forger and make it better.
This mod is aimed at role players who feel that a specific set of (vanilla) armor suits their character best, but are then forced by the game to use armor that doesn't suit them as they progress and gain higher levels because the armor they want to use (e.g. Iron Armor for launching a trailer's keel, or Hide and Seek for a bandit type character) is too small. All Defender armor is included, just in case the arrow in your lap is all you really need at this point in your life.
This mod adds crafting recipes for top-tier versions of all low- and mid-level vanilla armor and weapons. These new items are not replacements, but can be crafted in any forge using original equipment plus a Daedra Heart. The new recipe will only show up in the crafting menu if you are worth at least lvl50 and have basic equipment in your inventory. Since the explicit goal of this mod is to open up roleplaying options, no requirements for forging or revitalization are set as this would force players to pursue that specific revitalization tree.
Stalhrim, Dragon, and Daedric gear are already top-tier gear, so are excluded.
All light armor has the same armor rating:
-Breastplate 40
-Boots 12
-Handguard 12
-Helmet 16
-Shield 30
->Total: 80 + 30 (83 + 29 for Dragon Scale, 78.5 + 29.5 for Stalim)
All heavy armor has the same armor rating:
-Breastplate 48
-Boots 18
-Handguard 18
-Helmet 21
-Shield 35
->Total: 105+35 (Daedric is 108+36, Stalhrim and Dragonplate are 102+34)
Most weapons have the same damage as dragonbone weapons. If there are two versions of the same weapon (e.g. regular and honed), the non-elite version's attributes are reduced by 1.
-Sword 15
-Tomahawk 16
- Mace 17
-Dagger 12
-Great Sword 25
-Tomahawk 26
-Warhammer 28
Bow 20
Critical hit damage has been adjusted accordingly, but no other values (such as weight, value, weapon speed, etc.) have been edited.
This mod won't touch unique enchanted equipment! There are other mods. However, it does include some advanced variants of unique equipment that are not enchanted, such as battered armor. Some items that previously had the "DisallowEnchanting" keyword (e.g., parts of Dawnguard gear) have been removed if the enchantment was not actually on the device. All descriptions (Silver and Dawnguard gear) have also been removed, but the scripts that allow for additional effects remain.
NOTE: As of v2.0, the Smithy keyword allowing legendary tempering has been added to those armors in the vanilla game that don't have them. For the most part, this is a steelsmith forge, so if you can't find something anywhere else, check out the steel section of the forge.
Future plans and requirements
I'd like to make a version that includes immersive armor, but that depends on me being able to contact Hothtrooper. Still waiting for permission to patch my other mods. Also, making a mod like this is so boring (which is probably why I can't find anything like it online), so it would take me an afternoon without doing anything to keep working on it.
compatibility
Since this mod only adds content and doesn't edit any level lists or any dependencies, it should actually be compatible with everything. Requires Da …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
