Merchant Mod v0.4 by Adura: Original File

I've got consent in Adura's Merchant Mod FAQ!

Which states:

Q: Can I make my own version and/or make a copy of it on Skyrim SE?

A: Of course, knock yourself out! You may post a public version as long as you credit my original version and note that yours is an adaptation in the description.

The files I used for the port are from Sku11M0nkey's Breezehome which is fully upgradeable

I used Sku11M0nkey's files because it repurposes the Whiterun Stand so it's compatible with more mods that can change Breezehome.

All I did was:

Extract/recompile .bsa, 44. Table .esp, sort master, checked without any dirty edits and recompressed to .7z

I also changed the weight of the NPCs launched by the mod to 35 (I didn't touch the weight of the Housecarls**).

I do this to stop the blackface bugs I encounter in this mod, no matter where my load order is.

If anyone can tell me why I shouldn't do this then I hear it all...

So far I have only purchased the Whiterun stand and I did not have Lydia attend (as expected**), but the employee attended the stand without issue and sales and revenue have been received. So afaik it all seems to be WAI - quirks and all, I will continue to test and update accordingly.

Apparently this mod is incompatible with:

open city

Bianhome by Elianora - stand is located on the site of the plantation.

Original Mod Description:

Are you tired of merchants running out of money to sell your items? Have you ever wanted to open a store or shop in the vast world of Skyrim? Are you unhappy with the spouse shop in the game?

Well, you've come to the right place!

Buy and run your own exhibition stand. Sell your own items and set up a fantastic display. Be the store owner and merchant you've always wanted to be.

brief:

So what does this mod actually do...

This item allows you to purchase a total of 4 market stalls, located in Whiterun, Solitude, Riften and Windhelm.

You must own property in the city before purchasing a stand.

Say "Business Master" once you own a property? Purchase your booth at Jarl's Residence.

Upon purchase, your stand will be added to the game:

Whiterun - Outside Breezehome

Solitude - Outside Bard College

Riften - Market area (Brynjolf's stand)

Windhelm - outside Hjerim

On the stand you will see a chest where you can place items for sale, a lockbox for receipts, a ledger, a skill book (speech) and a chair.

To start selling, you have 1 of 4 options.

  • Attend the booth yourself
  • Hire someone to attend the stand - an NPC located at the nearest tavern
  • Get your Housecarl to attend the booth**
  • Have your spouse attend the booth**

Your stall will be for sale between 09:00-21:00, the item sold will not be transferred to any NPC (no save bloat), the item will simply be converted into Septims.

Initially, you can sell items up to a maximum value of 200 Septims - as your merchant skill increases, so does the maximum value of items you are eligible to sell.

You can use the ledger to view the current maximum at any time.

Once your merchant skills have increased enough, you can also specialize (yes, that's an "s", I'm British) your stall (for a fee) - done via the ledger

Finally, once your merchant skills increase again, you can set up transactions - done via the ledger

Known issues"

I probably won't reply to anyone who lists errors that occur with the original mod, or are detailed here or in Adura's FAQ!

*The "dialogue" implemented by this mod is silent, so when interacting with it

The NPC's only text will appear; you need to have dialogue subtitles.

I also recommend using shadeMe’s Fuz Ro D-Oh – Silent Voice Mod

cosmetics) you may have problems getti …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
