Target
Diversify your gaming experience by setting strict limits on what each character can do.
Remove incentives to balance the skills you don't want.
Define a specific end game to work towards.
Prevents the need to edit per-character configurations.
What is adaptive level?
Adaptive balancing means your character's experience with levels will vary based on your expertise level. If you focus on a handful of skills, those skills will increase the amount of experience they grant each level. We achieve this with Skyrim Skill Uncapper, by applying an increasing multiplier to increasing skill levels and decreasing multipliers at increasing character levels. Think of the skill multiplier as the expected character level, and the level multiplier as the inverse of the actual level. My preset is set to max out only level 6 skills to gain enough XP to get your character to their final level, thus removing the incentive to gain more skills than you would just to level up.
Readjust the horizontal curve
Reducing the number of skills from 18 to 6 means we have to make up for them by increasing the overall experience of those skills, as well as the overall effort. Luckily, we already have a useful model for doing just that from the Skills Trainer Formula. We made leveling relatively easy to reach skill level 50, harder after 50, and even harder after 75. Using this model also means that higher levels of perks will require more investment. Additionally, if you use a skill trainer, it will feel more valuable at higher levels.

Classed vs. Classless
Adaptive Leveling was originally designed for Classed setups, which I highly recommend. Classed and Classless are almost the same, but Classless is closer to vanilla in functionality. The Classed preset reduces character experience from skills below 25 to zero, and reduces skill experience to level 20. The classless preset, on the other hand, assumes your skills start at 15 and won't reduce anything to zero unless you hit the level cap.
Skill rate adjustment
As recommended by MorrowLoot Ultimate, the baseline global skill rate is 0.50. I've adjusted these based on how good each skill is on a builder-based setting.

Attribute gain
I've modified it to increase the weight of health boost 3. Additionally, your first upgrade's attribute gains are doubled. So at level 80 you will have 800 attribute points.
Perk benefits
I did not modify the extra gain in these presets. You can modify this section if you are using a perk extension like Ordinator and want more perks.

Alternatively, install another mod, such as ESO Skyshards, which allows you to earn even more bonus points.

General mod advice
But wait, there’s more! I give you a leveling system dedicated to training your character, but that's not enough incentive to try out all the different skill sets, is it? Skills need more balance and depth, and you need more roleplaying options. So to help you out I'm here to give you a mini mod guide.

Disclaimer: I personally don't care about settings that make the game very difficult or fast paced. If you're looking for that, check out SkeletonJack's OMEGA, which offers optional Uncapper presets using the adaptive leveling paradigm.
limit
Support skills don't actually hit 20x, and they can still be upgraded from skill books, skill trainers, and quest rewards. If your skill is over 20, you can fix it using the player.setav console command.
It is unsafe to use the advskill command on the console. Because of the way Skill Uncapper works, you …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
