how it works
Cursed Sword was designed to add a new gameplay loop to Skyward Sword, from the beginning to the end of the game. You start this mode by choosing a Cursed Sword from Broadwite, Damm, and Heindel. They start out as lightly enchanted steel weapons, but can be upgraded to increase their damage output, improve their enchantments, and even unlock spells for the player to use by spending a currency called Favors.
To win favor, you must satisfy your Cursed Sword's hunger. Your Cursed Sword has a configurable hunger meter that must be reduced to 0 within a number of days set by the MCM. This period is called the starvation cycle. At the end of each hunger cycle, your Cursed Sword evaluates how well you've fed them, and grants appropriate boons. A successful hunger cycle (success means hunger is reduced to 0) will reward favor according to the amount set in the MCM. If you fail to reduce hunger to 0 in time, you will lose a boon equal to twice the amount of hunger remaining, and your Cursed Sword will punish you with debuffs unique to each curse that last until the next hunger cycle.
To reduce hunger, you have to engage in satiety behaviors and greedy behaviors. Satiety behavior reduces hunger by 5, greedy behavior reduces hunger by 10. These actions are unique to each curse and are accomplished by killing specific targets with your cursed sword. For example, Broadvitt's Satiety action is to kill any living target (this would exclude robots, demons, undead, etc.).
Greedy behavior is more difficult to accomplish and may be unavoidable. At the end of each hunger cycle, your Cursed Sword will become hungrier, regardless of whether the hunger cycle was successful or not. When your Cursed Sword becomes hungry, satiety actions do nothing to reduce hunger and instead force you to perform greedy actions. Additionally, when your Cursed Sword is hungry, you will be afflicted with debuffs unique to each curse, as you and your Cursed Sword suffer together. Each successful Greed action resets the number of hunger cycles until your Cursed Sword becomes hungry.
Once hunger reaches 0, each satiety and gluttony behavior will reward the reward set in the MCM for the remainder of the hunger cycle. The more support you gain this way, the greater your chance of going insane, making you more reliant on your Cursed Sword and causing additional debuffs.
Blood Blade. Driven by a thirst for fear and betrayal, Bloodwitt drives her users to slaughter the innocent and betrayed, corrupting them into bloodthirsty and vampires.
Satiety: Kill any living target.
Greedy Action: Kill an innocent NPC or an NPC with a relationship higher or lower than 0 with you. It is worth noting that most NPCs have a relationship level of 0 with the player. This includes common enemies such as bandits.
Blodvitr contains an ability called "Blodvitr Choice." When you use this ability on an NPC, if
Will killing that NPC reduce her hunger?
Innocent NPCs will usually not attack you (excluding guards and important NPCs). This works for named and unnamed NPCs.
Relationship levels can be positive or negative. Broadwitt doesn't care if the NPC hates you or loves you. You can lower the NPC's relationship level with you by killing people close to you, or increase it by completing tasks for them.
Support unlocking
You can unlock the following abilities and upgrades from Blodvitr’s Plea menu:
Broadvitt's Bloodthirst: Spend 50 Likes to unlock this ability. It costs 50 favor to activate, detects the health of all living targets around, temporarily increases health by 50 points, and doubles the damage to …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
