"Shadow of the Tomb Raider" smart brightness module MOD

This mod will automatically light up very dark areas of the game without changing the brightness of well-lit areas. This MOD optimizes default in-game brightness settings and non-HDR displays.

Windows 10 System Requirements: Game DirectX 12 must be turned off for this mod to work properly.

Recommendation: In games, full screen must be turned on for better performance.

Installation method:

• After decompressing the compressed package, you will get the file "SmartBrightness.ini". Copy the file "SmartBrightness.ini" to the game installation folder (default is) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steamsteamapps.\Tomb Raider Shadow". This depends on the directory installed by each player.

• Download the latest RESHADE version (game quality enhancement tool): The latest version is currently 3.4.1

Or use one of the zipped packages (the latest version is highly recommended!)

• Start the ReHaad installer. Click "Select Game" and open this path (default) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This depends on the directory installed by each player, and then double-click "SOTTR.exe".

Then select "Direct3D 10+" in the pop-up window.

-Select "Yes" to the pop-up question and wait for the download to complete.

Or extract the "Ghost-Shadow" folder from this archive to the game installation folder (default) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steamsteamapps.Shadow of the Tomb Raider" and skip the next step.

-In the next pop-up window, click "Uncheck All" and then scroll down and select the checkboxes for "EyeAdaption.fx" and "FakeHDR.fx" and click "OK". (This step is to directly copy the two folders into it without installing it)

After the previous download is completed, click "Edit RESHADE Settings".

-In the "Presets" box, click the ellipsis and double-click "SmartBrightness.ini"

Then click "Select Active" and select "SmartBrightness.ini".

Then check "Performance Mode" and "Skip Tutoria" and close the RESHADE window instead of clicking "OK".

• Start the game.

Click Options, turn off DirectX 12 in the display, and check Full Screen Exclusive. I don’t know what will happen if I just check the full screen box.

FaKeHdR.FX" is required as a workaround for a ReHADE bug that disables VisualPosith.Fx when ReHaad overlay is turned off. All HDR settings are set to neutral values, not changing the appearance of the game.

In the RESHADE overlay, the brightness can be increased.

When the game is running, press Shift + F2 to open the settings, and then press ALT, otherwise the target will not be selected. The direction keys are up, down, left, and right to select, and 'space' is OK.

Click the "Settings" menu at the top.

Find the "Usage Mode" option and switch to "Configuration mode".

Click the "Home" menu at the top.

Below you'll see the "Eye Adaptation.fx" value.

• Increase or decrease the value of "Brightness Threshold" to change the maximum brightness.

There are 2 ways to change the value:

• Double-click the left and right mouse buttons simultaneously to enter the desired value.

• Click and hold the left mouse button on a value, then move the mouse to change the value.

All changes are saved immediately.

You can toggle this mod on/off in-game by simply pressing ALT+E

Of course you can also remap these keys in the RESHADE override:

-While the game is running, press Shift + F2
