🎮 **GitHub Source**: Tap the Spire on GitHub

Tap the Spire is an in-development mod focused on making Slay the Spire 2 a better gaming experience on touch and handheld devices.

This is **not** a complete UI overhaul, but it already includes important improvements to combat input, hand readability, scaling, and overall touch usability. I'm releasing it early so players can use it now, share feedback, and help shape future updates.

✨ Feature Highlights

**👆 Click to adjust the battle**

The touch battle process has been adjusted to reduce misoperations and make card use more calm:

  • **You need to select the target card**: Click on the card -> Select the enemy -> Double-click on the enemy to play, or click on the card again.
  • Clicking on an enemy will update the card's damage/effect preview for that target.
  • **Self/No Target Card**: Click on the card -> Click on the same card again to play it.
  • **Single Enemy Scenario**: Click on a card -> Click on the same card again.

**💨 Slide to type (optional)**

Enable slide-first card playing behavior for touch operations:

  • **Swipe up** A card can be played directly (no target card).
  • **Swipe up** the target card will immediately open the target selection arrow.
  • In swipe mode, no extra "tap first to select" step is required.
  • **Swipe down** Return to the hand to cancel the target selection, allowing you to continue the operation smoothly.

**🃏 Tile Hand Layout + Readability Tools**

  • **Tile hand layout**: Provides a more concise card display for touch screens.
  • **Card Size (Hand)** and **Card Size (Activation)** controls.
  • **Hand card side margin adjustment**: Keep the side UI visible and the cards operable.
  • **Bottom Alignment Option**: Keep full cards visible at the edges of the screen.
  • **Built-in max hand width behavior (auto-shrink)**: Prevent tiled hands from stretching to the entire screen.

**🎯 Vertical creature position offset**

Adjusted the vertical position of creatures (player/enemy) in combat for better vision and touch comfort.

**🛡️Safe margin**

Keep important UI elements away from the edges of the screen (useful for rounded screens/handheld monitors).

**📐 Global UI Scaler**

Scale the overall UI for better readability on smaller displays.

**✅ Double-click to confirm**

Add confirmation behavior in high-risk click areas (merchants/events, etc.) to reduce accidental operations.

**🧳 Rollable Merchant Rug**

The merchant inventory area can be scrolled so that everything remains within reach when zoom is enabled.

**⚙️ Pause menu scroll bar repair**

The pause/settings menu's scrollbar is aligned to the right edge for easy touch access.

⚠️ Known limitations

  • This module is still under active development, and some interfaces are still being optimized.
  • Currently, it is safest to configure UI scaling from the main menu.
  • The layout of some specific rooms may still need polishing at non-standard resolutions.

---

❓ Why release now?

Because the current feature set is already useful on its own:

  • **More calm, touch-friendly combat interaction**.
  • **Clearer hand layout and better card readability**.
  • **More usable zoom UI on handheld/touch devices**.
  • **Safer interaction in high accidental click scenarios**.

Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are very welcome and will directly help prioritize future updates.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
