STS2 automatic tower climbing module 🎮

✨ Unlocks and expands the built-in AutoSlay runner used internally by MegaCrit, allowing you to automate running games, quickly test module stability or perform stress testing!

🚀 Core functions

  • **"Automatic Tower Climb" button in the main menu**: A new button is added above the "Exit" button in the main menu. Click to start automatic operation immediately, without the need for a developer console!
  • **Highly configurable**: After clicking the "Automatic Tower Climb" button, a configuration menu will pop up! (New in version 1.2.0)
  • **Pause and resume during running**: While AutoSlay is running, press the **F9** key at any time to freeze it. A banner will appear on the screen confirming the pause. Press F9 again to resume. The game is fully interactive during pause and you can check the board status.
  • ⚠️ **NOTE**: Combat will still progress slowly during pauses. This function is mainly used to pause events outside of combat so that you can observe the surrounding environment.

📝 Instructions for use

⚠️ Archive file information

The game uses separate save files for modded and non-modded games:

  • **Non-module save path**: `%APPDATA%\SlayTheSpire2\steam\\profile1\saves\`
  • **Mod save path**: `%APPDATA%\SlayTheSpire2\steam\\modded\profile1\saves\`
**Tips**: If this is the first time you install the mod, your game progress will not be transferred automatically. The solution is simple: just copy your save files from the non-mod folder to the mod folder. Make sure you copy (not move) so you keep a backup.

⚙️ Configuration file

When started for the first time, the `autoslay_settings.json` file will be created in the same directory as the DLL file. There are inline `_help_` comments above each field explaining the valid options. Changes will take effect the next time you launch the game.

📊 Log file

If you need to report a crash, `%APPDATA%\Roaming\SlayTheSpire2\logs\godot.log` is the most useful file. It contains some basic identifying information (computer name, hardware, installation path), please send as appropriate.

📥 Installation Guide

  • Go to your STS2 installation directory: `STEAM\steamapps\common\Slay the Spire 2\`
  • Create a folder named `mods` if it does not exist.
  • Unzip the module to this folder. The final directory structure should be as follows:

`mods\STS2AutoSlayMod\STS2AutoSlayMod.dll`

  • Launch the game, it will detect the mod and ask you to restart in mod mode.
**Again reminder**: Please be sure to read the archive file information above to ensure that your game progress can be transferred smoothly.

💡 IMPORTANT NOTE

  • **Pure Functionality**: This mod **does not** modify the cards, game balance, or rules - it simply unlocks and extends the built-in AutoSlay runner used internally by MegaCrit.
  • **Loop Mode**: Post-run `loop` mode is great for stress testing, but will run indefinitely until you close the game. In some specific edge cases, the game may still shut down. We are working hard to track these situations (such as AI losing a round, pop-ups, or unexpected situations causing the game to close after a 30-second timeout).
  • **Best Loop Conditions**: Loop mode works best if all "epochs" are unlocked! Otherwise the game will stop every time a new era is unlocked. All epochs can be easily unlocked via console commands.
  • **Development Tools**: This module is mainly used as a development/testing tool. Bug reports are welcome.
  • **DEBUG CHALLENGE**: Specific events and combat have been identified that cause crashes. Since this is a non-release tool (I had to set the game to non-release to launch it), it was a bit difficult to debug.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
