Custom Modifiers

🎮 **Add unlimited possibilities to your "Slay the Spire 2" journey! **Tired of the same cookie-cutter tower climbing experience? This mod brings you a series of imaginative custom rules to make every adventure of yours unique!

✨ Core Functions

  • **All relics are X** 🧩

YouTube series and mods inspired by the original Slay the Spire! When you start, you will be given 5 relic options. The relic you choose will replace your initial relic and all relics obtained after that! Want to specify a certain relic to appear? Just add it to the JSON file that comes with the module (see README for details).

  • **Specialization+** 🃏

Choose any card from your profession and have 5 copies of it at the start! Want cards from other professions? Again, just add it to the JSON file!

  • **Colorless Challenge** ⚫

An extremely challenging mode! You lose your starting class cards and relics, and must choose between a variety of colorless cards to win.

  • **Famine Mode** 🍂

A difficult challenge that prevents you from obtaining **any** relics! Win with just your cards and starting relics!

  • **Vintage+** 🎪

A slightly silly modifier reserved for testing purposes. Get 2 relics after every normal battle (very OP, haha).

  • **More content coming soon! ** 🚀

📦 Installation Guide

  • Download and unzip the ZIP file of this module.
  • Place the extracted folder into the `mods` folder of your "Slay the Spire 2".
  • If you are installing the mod for the first time, just create a folder named `mods` in the `steamapps/common/SlaytheSpire2` directory (you can quickly get there through the Steam library, right-click the game -> Manage -> Browse local files).

💡 **Warm Tips**: After loading the module, the game will create 3 new save slots for you in the module folder. You can choose to find the original archive file and copy it to the mod archive location, or install the **Unified Archive File Mod** for easier management.

This mod works great with the **Unified Save File Mod** to help centrally manage your unlock progress and statistics. Please note that this mod will also change the content of your Daily Challenges, so the Daily Challenges you get will be different from those of players who don't use this mod (the challenges may be easier or harder).

⚠️ **IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE**: If you use the unified save file mod, **Please be sure to keep a backup** of your save files elsewhere. While this mod will not edit your save file, this is a precaution that should be taken with all mods.

For daily challenges, the mod will randomly give you a relic or card rather than letting you choose, this is to keep things challenging (although sometimes it can create impossible challenges!).

⚙️ JSON Customization Guide (for "All Relics Are X" and "Specialization+" modes)

When you load a game with the **"AllRelicsAreX"** or **"Specialized+"** modifier, the mod will check the corresponding JSON files: `AllRelicsX.json` and `SpecializedPlus.json`.

**File Location**: These JSON files must be located in the **same directory** as the `CustomModifier.dll` file, otherwise the mod will not be recognized.

If the mod cannot detect the JSON file, it will automatically generate a new one. If you accidentally mess up the JSON file, just delete it and the game will regenerate one the next time you load a run with that modifier.

**AllRelicsX.json configuration**

  • **`SpawnPool`**: Contains a list of all relic IDs in the game. If you remove a relic ID from this list, the relic will not appear as an option and will not appear in the Daily Challenge.
  • **`guaranteedSpawn`**: If you want to **make sure** that a certain relic appears as an option, copy its ID from the `SpawnPool` list and add it to the `guaranteedSpawn` lis …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
