Configurable scaling of enemy health, block value, and abilities (by number of players) in single and multiplayer games to increase the challenge of the game.

BetterMultiplayerScaling

🎮 **A mod that gives you complete control over the multiplayer difficulty of Slay the Spire 2! **Tired of the default difficulty curve? This mod allows you to fine-tune enemy attributes, whether you want to challenge your limits with friends or want a more balanced experience, it can satisfy you.

🛠️ Configurable options

The mod contains **8** configurable options, allowing you to tweak the game however you want:

  • **Fixed Health Bonus**: Adds a fixed amount of health to all enemies, not affected by scaling factor or player count. Great for increasing the difficulty of early levels without overly affecting later levels.
  • **Additional scaling percentage per player**: Additional scaling percentage for each additional player in the lobby. The default value is **5%**. This number is multiplied by the number of players in the lobby and added to the **base scaling percentage**.
  • **Base scaling percentage**: The default scaling ratio of the lobby. The default value is **100%**. Setting it below **100%** can effectively **reduce** the monster's health.
  • **Minimum number of players required to take effect**: How many players need to be in the lobby for this mod to **take effect**. The default value is **2**. Set to **1** to make it work in single player as well.
  • **Elite Health Multiplier**: The percentage by which the health of elite enemies should be multiplied. The default value (i.e. the original value) is **100%**.
  • **Boss Health Multiplier**: The percentage by which the boss enemy's health should be multiplied. The default value (i.e. the original value) is **100%**.
  • **Ability Stacking Multiplier**: The ratio by which the values of "Artifact", "Plating", "Buffer", "Slippery" and "Easy to Startle" are applied to an enemy. The default value (i.e. the original value) is **100%**.
  • **Block value multiplier**: The ratio by which the enemy's value should be scaled when it obtains the "block" effect. Does not affect the Plating or Susceptibility values applied to enemies. The default value (i.e. the original value) is **100%**.

🧮 Calculation principle

**The calculation formula is as follows:**

`Standard game calculation * (base scaling percentage + (number of players * additional scaling percentage per player))`

**Give me a chestnut 🌰:**

Using default values (base 100%, 5% per player) in 8-player co-op:

`800% * (100% + (8 * 5%))`

= `800% * (100% + 40%)`

= `800% * 140%`

= **1120%** total scaling (original is 800%).

This means that if an enemy has 14 health in solo mode and 112 health in vanilla 8-player co-op, with this mod it will have **156 health** in 8-player co-op. If **Health Points Fixed Bonus** is also configured, an additional bonus will be added on top of this.

📥 Installation Guide

  • Unzip the downloaded file and you will get a folder named `BetterMultiplayerScaling`.
  • Place this folder into the `mods` folder in the root directory of your game.

🎯 Usage suggestions

  • **Challenge yourself**: Increase the `additional scaling percentage per player` and `base scaling percentage`, so that even high-player teams will feel a lot of pressure!
  • **Balanced experience**: If you feel that the enemies in the late stage of the original multiplayer mode are too "brittle", you can approp …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
