CombatQuill 🎨
✨ Module Introduction
CombatQuill is an online drawing and tactical marking module specially designed for "Slay the Spire 2"! It cleverly adds an official-style quill toolbar to the battle interface and reward interface, allowing you and your teammates to mark enemies, plan routes, and set priorities in real time during tense battles, making team collaboration even more powerful!
---
🛠️ Core functions
- **Real-time Tactical Drawing**: Draw markers directly on the map as the battle progresses, strategic communication has never been more intuitive.
- **Official Style Integration**: The toolbar is perfectly integrated into the game UI without any sense of disobedience.
- **Flexible operation mode**: Supports temporary activation and resident mode to adapt to the needs of different combat scenarios.
- **Rich customization options**: You can freely adjust the brush color, thickness, transparency and eraser size.
---
📦 Installation Guide
- **Exit Game**: Please make sure to completely close "Slay the Spire 2".
- **Unzip file**: Unzip the downloaded release package.
- **Place Mod**: Copy the entire unzipped `mods\CombatQuill` folder to the root directory of the game.
- **Confirm files**: Make sure the target folder contains the four key files `CombatQuill.dll`, `CombatQuill.pck`, `combatquill.settings.json` and `mod_manifest.json`.
- **Startup Verification**: Run the game and check whether the module is loaded successfully.

💾 Archive and Migrate
**Please note**: CombatQuill itself does not create independent progress archives, it only saves your key and brush settings.
- **Keep Settings**: If you want to keep your personalized settings on a new computer or after reinstalling the game, just copy the file `\mods\CombatQuill\combatquill.settings.json` to the same location.
- **Migrate original archive**:
- Start the game with the mod first and generate the `modded` archive directory.
- Copy the original `progress.save`, `prefs.save` and (if necessary) `current_run.save` to the `%APPDATA%\SlayTheSpire2\steam\\modded\profileX\saves` directory.
- If the current game cannot be read after migration, deleting the `current_run.save` and `current_run.save.backup` files in the `modded` archive folder usually solves the problem.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
