"Leave the fancy elven stuff to the elves. What you need is home-tanned leather, straight-grained wood, and good-quality northern steel."
This package is designed for the Yeoman Archer character which focuses on archery and stealth. You can craft new arrows and wooden bows, as well as Lincoln green clothing for stealth movement in the woods.
The parcel includes a shooter's cabin player west of Riften and a campsite south of Riverwood. In the cabin you'll find new crafting equipment (a gazebo bench for making archery equipment, and a loom for weaving clothes, coverings, and cloaks), as well as the familiar tanning rack, whetstone, and wooden chopping board. The cabin also includes a bed, stove, cooking utensils and safe.
Most of the new equipment is keyed to the archery skill tree. The tannery and forge have access to some new equipment, and more can be crafted at the loom and Bowyer's workbench. You'll need at least the Iron Smith Smithing skill - a lot of the new equipment targets this skill so it can be fully tempered. Advanced Armors lets you chain mail at any forge, and Arcane Smithing gives you silver weapons, but there are no other forging perks in this pack. The two-handed technique is very useful because you can make quarter staff. Perks in the archery skill tree provide new bows and arrows at the archer's bench (instead of at the forge), and additional bows and arrows become available after completing certain tasks. The Sneaky Necklace and Archery Ringlet can be converted into appropriate clothing, making enchantment skills no longer necessary to use this mod effectively. (Smithing and herbcraft are always useful, but I'm trying to make this mod usable without skill, which is unusual among backcountry archers.)
Most bows are faster than standard non-wood bows. Other than that, I haven't found this package to unbalance the game.
Installation: Use the Mod Manager, or copy the two YeomanArcherPackage esp and bsa files into the Skyrim Data folder and enable the esp file.
Required: Skyrim, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard
Known Issues: There are some issues with editing in third person perspective. The Khajiit and Argonian characters have troublesome fronts; their foreheads cut through the headgear badly. Female characters will wear capes with some cuts at the shoulders.
This package replaces my previous "Archer" mod, although I'm leaving it up to anyone who likes it.

If you've completed the main quest multiple times, these mods allow you to skip Helgen's opening scene and start with a different backstory. You can postpone the main quest if you wish, or start at any time by exploring Helgen.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
