Scarface by Xenius

>Description

Adds 16 new scars to various styles of play; such as battle scars, burn scars, and ritual scars.

Applies to all races of humans and elves.

These scars act differently than regular scars, and you must use the Complexity slider to select them. This also means you can use them in conjunction with normal scars.

>FAQ

Why did you choose to create skin tones rather than regular scars?

Since normal scars cover the entire face using a separate mesh, using skin tones removes that limitation.

Why are the extracted files too large?

Each skin tone uses its own normal map; all races also require their own normal map, resulting in a large number of files. Best of all, neither normal maps nor local maps are compressed.

>Installation
  • Unzip the file using 7zip or WinRar
  • Find the Skyrim folder here: Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim
  • Move the Data folder to the Skyrim folder
  • When asked to merge the folder it will not get replaced
  • Activate XCES.esp
>Uninstall
  • Disable XCES.esp
  • Delete the Data\textures\Xenius\Scarface folder
  • Delete the XCES.esp file
>Compatibility

The normal maps included in this mod are based on the official high-resolution normal map of the face

Texture pack. Selecting Scar from this mod will overwrite any other normal maps you have installed, but

Only for your own character.

This mod does not replace anything, all files are in separate folders.

Only the normal map will be overwritten, you can still use any diffuse map you want.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
