SA547’s wooden bridge project
This is both a resource pack and a demo module that replaces some of the stone bridges on Skyrim via plugins, specifically the wooden versions of bridge01 and bridgelong01. The meshes are named differently so as not to affect the vanilla bridge mesh.
The wooden bridge was constructed from mesh parts in Bodyslide's Outfit Studio, based on the vanilla (read: stone) bridge by aligning the bridge's sections with the original collision plane. The bridge was also UV mapped to use the mining scaffolding texture and match the existing navmesh.
During testing, it was found that using meshes had little to no impact on overall game performance.
Enhanced lighting and additional information for FX users:
This mod also includes empty meshes when removing bridge shadows using ELFX Exteriors. In the Mod Organizer, move the mod after Enhanced Lighting and FX.
Cave:
So since these bridges are enclosed in a collision shape, there may be some objects and NPCs floating slightly on the bridge deck, why projectiles can't pass under the guardrails, why the player can't sit in the frame, or why the player can run along the guardrails as if floating along the air.
A recent change has been to improve the bridge mesh by running NIFUtils Suite to regenerate its proper Havok collision, including the ability to sit or stand within the frame, jump onto pilings or fire arrows through openings.
Install:
This mod is packaged loosely to be used as a resource for modders. Install using your favorite mod manager, or extract the contents of the file into the Skyrim directory.
uninstall:
Before uninstalling, go into any internal battery and save your game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
