About this mod Machine translation
Enable key-bound spells and use your melee weapon instead of your hands to cast them, as well as attack while jumping and sweeping with a one-handed weapon.
This is my first mod and I hope it works and I hope I don't forget anything important. I'd love to hear your thoughts or if you have any questions please leave a comment and I'll try to answer them. :)
Essentially, this mod gives you the ability to bind spells to hotkeys and cast them without having to manually equip them, similar to other great hotkey mods like AH Hotkeys or Smart Cast but it's more basic and if you're looking for a full-featured hotkey mod, I'd recommend picking up one of those - however, if you're looking for a more immersive way to let melee characters cast spells without equipping them then this mod is for you! I've always been a loyal user of the aforementioned mods, but never really liked how the spells appeared from my character's forehead, and I also had issues balancing everything.
Warrior Magic is designed to make the hands more complete, more immersive, and less overly fatigued, and the way to achieve this is by channeling your spellcasting through combat actions. You charge a spell by clicking/holding the hotkey assigned to it, and once the charge is charged, you can release it by swinging your weapon or blocking, depending on how hostile the charged spell is. By default you have to hold the hotkey for a period of time based on how long it would normally take to cast a spell, but this is customizable and you can change it to an instant action if you wish - plus you can choose to automatically perform the combat actions required to release the spell after charging.
This mod is designed to be used with one- or two-handed melee weapons, as the weapons can swing and the blocking functionality is integral to the core functionality.
feature
Press and hold the hotkey to charge a spell. (You can tailor the charge time to instant recharge based on cast time or spell cost compared to magic card pool)
Spells are cast by swinging the weapon or blocking. (You can choose to do this manually, or have it do it automatically after you release the hotkey, or you can choose to do it automatically)
Supports focus spells, no charging required, just hold the assigned hotkey and see it go!
Spell Looping (you can bind multiple spells to the same key and loop between them)
Extend spell duration through recasting. (Each time an already active defensive spell is recast, its duration is refreshed and extended to a maximum value defined by you, this feature can be disabled by setting the maximum value to 0)
When using a hotkey spell, the active effect is canceled by holding down the defined cancel key.
Attack while jumping.
This is an experimental trick, but does have some trouble, as your attack animation is canceled once you land on the ground again, so it's more effective against faster weapons, as they are more likely to fire on the target frame.
Use 1H weapons for an all-out attack. (disabled in towns)
How spells are charged and released can be configured separately for offensive and defensive spells, and in addition, overrides can be defined for each hotkey.

incompatibility
I've noticed that adding or removing effects in the player character interrupts the casting of focus spells, something some mods have been doing extensively - if Warrior Magic has issues canceling focus spells before running out of Magicka or releasing the magic key, then enable the "Concentration Shift Fix" in the MCM.
How to use?
First, you need to bind the spell to the desired key, which can be done in two ways, via (1) MCM or using (2) the "WMAG Bind Spell" power.
- In Warrior Magic MCM, navigate to the "Spells" page and click "Click to bind keys" under "Create Spell Keybindings", press the desired key on your keyboard in the pop-up window.
A new hotkey will be created at the top of the Spells page and your character will b …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
