About this mod Machine translation
The preset is Vivid Weather, which emphasizes bringing out color and vividness while avoiding overexposure. Works with ENB binaries 0.392 and 0.292
"Vivid Fantasy" is an improvement over the fantasy preset on my previous Chimera ENB.
As a fork of Performance ENB, Performance presets will likely run on all midrange and even most low-end PCs.
aesthetics
The original inspiration for the vivid fantasy comes from the environment we find in Sofgaard. The game will be bright during the day and night, but dull at dawn - night colors have been specifically tuned to make them as visually satisfying as possible, but at the expense of realism. In terms of color, it aims to be closer to Oblivion and
Fable2. The recommended SKGE plugin refines the intended experience with non-intrusive motion blur, additional DoF during dialogue, improved shaders, and visual changes as player HP. Fall down.
NOTE: Most of the initial screenshots were taken on an older performance version of ENB, so expect to get more visual flair in the game.
Performance benchmark
The original Chimera preset can boast higher performance than almost any ENB pre-315 binary.
The Performance version of Vivid Fantasy is slightly heavier on your system than top performance ENBs like the Stakado Cinemascope, but at most it's only about 5-10 fps better.
On the other hand, using the "Quality Preset" results in a significant drop in performance. If you wish to run it with high settings and 2k-4k textures, a moderately powerful GPU is recommended.
All in all, the Performance version will still retain the intended visual palette. If you use SKGE (linked in Requirements) and my presets, you can get better water visuals and DoF with minimal FPS hits in the session.
Install
- Download the ENB binary according to the required version:
0.392
0.292
0.262
- Copy d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe from the "wrapper version" in the downloaded archive into the main Skyrim directory (the directory where TESV.exe is located).
- Copy my ENB file to the same folder.
- Install Vivid Weathers using any Mod Manager and choose to disable ground fog (important).
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
