Vampire No Dirt Tintmasks USLeEP Patches
1.0
byDarklocq
Update: If you use Skyrim Race Records Master (recommended for technical users of TES5Edit only), this patch and the patch for it are actually obsolete.
This is a simple patch (ESP replacement) for Jowain92's Dawnguard Vampires - No Dirt Tintmasks (01VampireNoDirtTintmask.esp). DVNDT was released after Dawnguard and retained several bugs in the vampire race records. These were fixed by Arthmoor in the unofficial Dawnguard patch (UDGP, now obsolete) and later unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition patches (USLeEP or USLEP), but using DVNDT will undo these changes.
So, I've moved all USLeEP fixes to DVNDT. This version of DVNDT does what it's supposed to do in games with USLeEP: it just removes the vampires' dirt tintmasks that make their heads look wrong in Dawnguard (the skin is very smooth and lacks vampire detail). If you are already using DVNDT with USLeEP, this patch will revert some USLeEP fixes, including:
Wrong eyes for various (mainly elves) vampire races
Wrong skin tone for various (mainly human) vampire races
Two vampire matches had incorrect flags, e.g. no ability to track their head movement
It is impossible for some vampire races (mostly female, but there is one male case) to use Warpaints
Some small adjustments, such as Khajiit attack angle, etc.
This patch was not made by Conny Bengtsson for No Dirt on Vampire Faces. This is not really a mod, but a blanked texture file (maleheaddirt_01.dds) that a) will affect any race using it and b) will not remove all dirt from male uppers, let alone female uppers.
The patch may be compatible with older unofficial Dawnguard patches. It does not have USLeEP as a required master.
Install
Just put this new 01VampireNoDirtTintmask.esp into the game's data directory, overwriting the one in the original mod.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
