About this mod Machine translation
A mod that adds out-of-print horror masks from Splatterhouse to Skyrim
I've always loved Splatterhouse Games since I was a kid. For years, porting something like Mask of Horror to Skyrim has been a minor dream. Sadly, since there is no way to create slashes for mesh or texture editing, I decided to do the next best thing and hopefully make something a little more knowledge friendly.
Many moons ago, the priest of the Miraak faithful grew too big for his horses and became conceited. He disrespected Hermaeus Mora and paid a heavy price. His body was blown to pieces by the wind, and his soul was molded into a mask of his own. The fool also used the most insidious magic to charm the woodcutter's ax (ironic humor). The problem is, that's not enough. Now, the mask has been cast in various locations throughout Tamriel, seducing the wearer into gathering evil from those around them and gaining power. Born in Riverwood in an old barrel made of weathered skin, the Dragonborn can do this evil deed and help the masked soul take revenge on Mirayak for destroying the body!
The mask itself is enchanted. Live longer, lose weight and increase your winnings. It also renders the wearer immune to any magical damage. Stamina bonuses are on the user interface, including stamina recovery. However, this ugly headgear comes with a price tag. When you wear its magicka it is completely consumed without any casting spells, Nada...z! However, two bloody notes will give you really useful abilities. One is Blood Rage; consider the Berserker's Rage to be a secondary power. The other is to summon the terrifying ax that the mad worshipper uses against his enemies. This ax really does do a lot of damage to enemies and also has a vampiric blood-sucking effect. This thing also has a soul trap for those killed by the knife. And, of course, a gentle history of the believer's story in his own words.
The mask can be found at the Mill in Riverwood.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
