About this mod Machine translation

Reworked lod terrain with dispersed textures to better fit lod snow.

Reworked normals to improve normal detail.

Redone lod mesh for smoother transitions.

Introduction:

Terran Lod Redone is designed for a complete Terrad Lod overhaul. It features high-resolution textures, high-resolution normals, and a high-poly mesh that virtually eliminates streaking effects.

In addition to the usual lod mods, I packaged the entire mod into a bsa archive with a dummy plugin for loading it. These parts are missing.

This eliminated all the confusion my previous concept had caused.

If you are using HD lod or Skyland, you only need to install the lod file that comes with this module. They will mix with Terrain Lod Redone without any problem.

You don't have to care about anything.

Just enable esp and set the load order as high as possible (thanks Amelli). There are some mods like Open City that use some custom lod grids.

And it's necessary that they overwrite my lod files.

Other installation notes:

If you don't want additional esp in your load order you can add bsa in Skyrim.ini.

so:

Once this is done, you can safely delete Terrain Lod Redone.esp.

But due to conceptual changes, it may be necessary to uninstall the old version instead of updating it.

FAQ:

Do I have to run DynDoLod or SSELODGEN after installation?

You only need to run it if you want to use high-resolution assets.

They have resolutions up to 2k.

But you should know that if you choose the 1k or 2k version, the lod atlas may be too large.

This will result in invisible mountains in the distance.

If you have this problem you should try using 512 res textures.

What I get are green dots:

If you are using Skyrim Flora Overhaul, install "no bushing" (thanks Fielion).

Sometimes parts of the lod are missing:

While looking around for the problem, I found that some lod objects were rendering incorrectly.

I disabled my mod and noticed that the vanilla state of Alftand and Whiterun North was also having issues.

I'm guessing this comes from a bad lod occlusion calculation and I'm currently working on a workaround.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
