About this mod Machine translation

This is Skyrim's ultimate summer overhaul. New textures, grass and landscape editors. This mod will transform cold Skyrim into a lush and beautiful summer paradise. No more snow, no more cold, enjoy summer in the sky. Not intended to be immersive or realistic.

Version 1.0

Requirements: DynDOLOD // Skyrim Flora Overhaul 2.5b

Overview

Take off your hot pants! Summer is here.

This mod will turn all of Skyrim into a beautiful summer landscape. Yes, all of them. No more snow. It also means it will snow in some places, which may seem a little strange or out of place. It's unfortunate that this is a pita for adding snow and an effective LOD to it, so I'll leave it as it is.

Some parts of the landscape have to be improved and fixed (especially in snowy areas), so you may encounter incompatibility issues with mods that change the terrain or add objects. Make sure to load these mods after summer_overhaul.esp!

I've been testing this game for a few hours and using this mod and a few others, and it's running stable so far. Make sure not to use any snow-related mods - they won't have any effect. I also recommend starting a new game with this mod enabled. It can be installed mid-game, but it's safe to be safe.

Icebergs and other ice objects are not retextured. I think they still look good even with green textures and grass surrounding them.

compatibility

This version of the release is only compatible with Skyrim Flora Overhail 2.5b - I may add compatibility for enhanced vanilla trees later. The weather module I'm currently patching is: Vivid Weather (download path under Optional Files). I may also patch for Climate of Tamriel and find out about other mods and their compatibility.

This mod contains its own .ini file and will enforce the required grass ini settings. If you still want to change the grass density, just open the summer_overhaul.ini file and change iMinGrassSize to a higher number to make the grass less dense (better performance).

Make sure not to use any grass or flora except Flora Overhaul. Also, make sure to load Summer Overhaul after Flora overhaul and let it overwrite all files. Landscape textures can be used as long as they are loaded before the summer overhaul.

If you are using NLA with ENB, make sure to load the .esp file from NLA before summer_overhaul.esp - this may also work with similar mods.

DLC compatibility will be released at a later date. Already working on Dawnguard, support for Solstheim will be added in the future.

Terrain textures for the Dawnguard DLC are currently included so you can generate LODs for Forgotten Valley. To maintain the highest possible compatibility, I did not remove any ice objects in this area. It may seem a little strange or inappropriate, but it's unavoidable.

Install

Simply install the mod using your favorite Mod Manager. It is highly recommended that you use Mod Organizer.

This mod requires DynDOLOD as you need to generate your own LOD files for trees and objects. I'll probably upload pre-generated LODs for all the lazy jazz, but DynDOLOD is mandatory for now.

It is highly recommended to start a new game with this mod enabled. It may work when installed mid-game, but may cause issues.

After installing the mod, you must run DynDLOD to generate LOD (Level of Detail) for trees and objects. Distant terrain textures have been included.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
