To obtain these squirrels, just buy scrolls from certain merchants in Riverwood: Lucan Valerius, Sleeping Inn Orgnar, Alvor). Now open your inventory and navigate to "Scrollbars" where they are located. You throw them away, and when they fall to the ground, they hatch into creatures. These creatures follow you.

In order to find the scrolls at the merchant, you must select the mod you want to buy and place it at the bottom of the list when you start the game.
