About this mod Machine translation
Added spear/javelin weapons and animations for third person mode. These are available to players and NPCs and can be crafted and found on enemies.
about
This mod adds spear/javelin weapons and animations. These are sword-shaped and use one-handed perk trees. Both players and NPCs can use spears and animations. Spears can be crafted and can be found on enemies you encounter. Each spear has different stats, such as the weak iron spear being faster but shorter, while the stronger ebony spear is slower but has greater range.
Currently this only works for third persons. Although I made some first person animation, I can't use it because FNIS doesn't support it. I'm looking for other ways to eventually include the first person.

Spear Grip Mechanic: When using a spear with a shield or off-hand weapon, one-handed animations will be used. If the left hand is unequipped and empty, both hands will hold the spear and the two-handed animation will be used. In this pseudo-two-handed mode, you get a 20% increase in attack damage. The left hand is considered empty when using magic, and the spear is held with both hands until the spell is cast.
Unique addition: When blocking in two-handed mode, the range is reduced to 1.0 which is the same as the sword's range. This also applies to the stealth attack "Crit", which has reduced range but also gets a 10% boost to attack damage.
Javelin Throwing: Forward/Standing/Backward Attack will throw a javelin. Attacking left and right will be a melee. Javelin damage is base damage x 2 regardless of armor, and will block enemies unless they block.
Custom Skeleton: This model uses a custom skeleton to enable the spear/javelin sheath on the rear. If you use a different mod that includes the skeleton, mine won't be used, so there shouldn't be a conflict. For example, if you use XPMSE, then my skeleton will not be active and the game should revert to normal XPMSE.
Install/Uninstall
Install normally, manually or using a mod manager (recommended).
To uninstall the spear first, reset your character to use vanilla animations, then save your game and exit. Uninstall the mod from the game and update FNIS again before jumping back into the saved game.
If you find that you are already in a T pose or have incorrect animations because you uninstalled the mod without resetting the animations to vanilla, then you can reinstall the mod and follow the steps above.
Known issues
- When using magic in left-handed and two-handed modes, the left and right animations do not work properly. This is because FNIS does not support these two animations even if they are included.
how does this work
-Added additional spear animations by patching behavior files using FNIS.
- SKSE allows scripts to have more functionality, we can apply animations to override the standard animations when equipping a spear.
- The quest applies Alias to a player or NPC with a spear, which attaches said script to the script that controls the animation.
- A perk that applies a damage boost to the spear when in two-handed mode and is removed when the spear is unequipped.
- For more in-depth details you can contact me.
Require
SKSE, FNIS and NIOverride.
compatibility
- Fully compatible with NickNak’s Animated Armory
- Can work with other spear animation modes without conflict. Only spears from this mod will use this mod's animations.
- May conflict with other animation mods that do the same thing.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
