Slowly affects attack speed

About this mod Machine translation
The slowing effects of poison and frost not only reduce the victim's movement speed, but also their attack speed. Both SKSE scripts and dummy spell implementations are used to bypass the pitfalls of attack speed actor values, and various attack speed fixes should be used.
This mod was originally created by Migck for Skyrim SE and released under an open license. From the original mod page:
"It seems common for ARPGS to use the "Firefrost Blast" elemental trifecta to slow down various actions of the afflicted. Skyrim does implement something similar, and its various frost magic items use a hidden "slow" effect that also slows the target's movement speed by 50% for a few seconds, plus some alchemical effects that remove both left and right hand attack speeds, but it's not terribly simple to implement due to the clunky way the game controls these stats.
So what I'm trying to do is turn my first contact with the Papyrus scripting system into a project that works around that limitation. Various "slow" effects now use a custom script that causes them to also reduce their target's weapon speed multiplier by the same factor as their movement speed. Therefore, by default, all frost magic items and spells in the game will cause the target to move and attack 50% slower than normal, with resistance adjustments. Of course, this includes player characters, so now frost damage is something melee characters may want to avoid specifically. Slow Poison has more uses and can give you the upper hand when trading hits.
Some of the game's magic items have also been fixed, for example, various instances of the Ice Storm spell use frost damage within a 15-foot range, but the added slow effect only works on a direct hit. The spell, scroll, and staff enchantment versions of Ice Storm will now also slow down all targets captured in the area.
The script can identify whether the target's right or left attack speed value is greater than 0 in order to decide whether to use defense or exhaust defense when the magic effect is in effect, and use the SKSE function to dynamically adjust the selected virtual spell to the size needed to achieve the desired result. This should ensure correct operation when using mods that fix the attack speed baseline on the actor (such as Attack Speed Fix).
However, please note that attack speed AV will not have any effect on unarmed combat. It can only change the speed of the actual weapon swing, so creatures and humanoids fighting limbs or other "fake" weapons will not be affected by this mod's functionality. Sorry, there's nothing I want to do about it.
This mod edits several magic effects to have new scripts attached to it, so it may not be compatible with other mods that change them in any way, and only magic spells and items that use the regular game's slow effects will benefit from its new additions. However, if desired, the magic effects of other mods can be patched using the included script.
The script also contains fixes related to changing an actor's SpeedMult value, mods can do that too. You can load this mod after Ordinator without any problems. The fix will update the Ailed's speed multiplier so that they are unable to maintain their momentum after slowness starts affecting them, and will also prevent them from reaching 0 and moving at 100% speed, capping the minimum speed multiplier at 1. Some magic items with new AoE slow effects as mentioned above. SSEdit can be used to find any conflicts. Drag and drop the contents into the Data folder and activate MigSlowAtk.esp to install. "
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
