About this mod Machine translation
4 tools to find CK battery location, laser accurate compass and measure objects from 1cm to 10m.
Introduction
This is a resource for modders only and does not help with normal gameplay. One tool box at Riverwood's Sleeping Giant Inn contains 4 portable tools. These tools are designed to find the location of your Creation Kit and measure in-game objects.
Install
Please use NMM to install. Should not conflict with other mods and does not require other mods or SKSE.
use
This toolbox can be found in the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, next to the service desk. Inside, you can find:
- Position mark. When dropped (find in the Miscellaneous category, press R to drop) it will settle and provide a Creation Kit unit reference number. Position markers only work properly in external (Tamriel) cells as it measures "world" coordinates. Pick it up (E key) to take it somewhere else.
- A vertical height pole that can be brought to any location and lowered. Aerialists will find their height and then pull themselves up to vertical if there is room. Outside is a great place! The height can then be read from the scale. Pick it up again (E key) to place elsewhere.
- 1 meter box, which can be put down to measure objects from 1 cm to 1 meter.
- A compass that can be put down. It will float and level itself, then orient itself north with a confirmed 100-meter laser beam at the base point.
The Creation Kit tutorial recommends the following sizes for Skyrim:
10 meters == 70 units in Blender = == 700 units in Creation Kit.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
